  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Hello again, I think I might be doing something wrong trying to post this question. I tried it earlier, but nothing appeared on the message board Anyway, I have been gluten free for over a year now and was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II. The shrink put me on a low dose of Lithium, but now I am having stomach problems again. Not positive if it is...

    ARCHIVED Lithium

Hi all, Anyone know anything about taking Lithium if you are Celiac? I have done the search, but can not seem to find anything. I have been gluten free for a year + now with few "accidents", recently I was diagnosed with Bipolar II and the shrink put me on a low dose of Lithium. My guts have really been bothering me for the last few weeks and I am not...
  4. I have tried reading thru all of the posts, but I haven't found anything yet. If anyone out there is from the Chicago area and know of a good doctor, please, I need a referal. After reading many of the posts I realize I am doing a lot of things wrong, I just want to get on a right track and not feel like this disease has gotten the best of me. Please,...

KC - not really sure how I found out about the group in AH, I have been to sooooooooo many sites, and when I saw they were in AH I kind of just wrote them off. Try google perhaps, sorry I couldn't be more help
  6. Which whole foods? What town? Denice
  7. Deb, I live in Oak Park, the closest group meeting place I know of is in Arlington Heights. Bit of a hike. I was really surprised to find there wasn't one actually in Chicago, or perhaps I just haven't found it yet. I think we would all love it if there was a support group in our home town, sometimes I just need to talk, I am sure you do too. I don...
  8. Funny this subject just came up. I don't have yeast infections, but I have been dealing with cronic sinus problems for years. Recently my ENT doc said the dreaded work "perhaps you will need a porcedure.." I decided to start doing some of my own research to see if I could find a natural cure. Yesterday, after many hours on the internet I found "Candida...
  9. Well babe, I have the same fears, so don't feel alone, and always email me if ya need some verification on who and how you are. I have always been on top of my game, way on top of it. I have multiple degrees, am an award winning designer, until recently made over 200 a year and then in April I was diagnosed with celiac disease after being so violently ill...
  10. I have never started a topic, but we are goin to PV for the holidays and I am trying to find other english speaking Celiacs in or around the area - I am desperately going to need help with food while I am there and do not have a clue where to go. I don't speak or read spanish. If anyone who reads this can give me another website to go to or some help, I...
  11. I feel very embraced by all of these posts. I agree with Faith, this is one of THE best threads I have read here, and believe me, I have been reading all most all of them. I have gone in just a few short days from feeling helpless to feeling I have a whole new lease on life. I thank all of you who have responded, I love GIJane for starting this post! ...
  12. I haven't come to terms with the depression, but it is reassuring to hear that someone else feels the same way I do. (sorry, I didn't mean for that to seem mean in anyway!) I can't really or totally put my finger on why I feel so depressed. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in April of this year and have been doing my best to stay gluten free, learning...
  13. Hey, does anyone know what the sore muscles is about? I am somewhat new to all of this, have been gluten-free since April. Early on after I was diagnosed I noticed my leg muscles were really sore, it was hard to just get down a set of stairs. It went away, but yesterday and today I am having the same problem. They feel like I ran a marathon without a...
  14. Maybe what you lost is muscle - where you an active athlete of sorts before going back to school? If it makes you feel any better, I am been glutten free since April and have lost over 30 lbs and I wasn't over weight to begin with! Denice
  15. Thanks B, I do think having someone to talk to will help - just reading these different posts helps when I am feeling "down"!!! I also and started to believe that I need to increase my carbs and that might help. Anyway, I am going to keep plugging away! Thanks to all who answered, and an especial thanks to everyone who posts their knowledge and experiences...
  16. The bbest we can figure out is that is was a min of 6 years, but more likely 10+, they just told me I had IBS and to treat it with amoniam AD. Since finding out it was celiac disease, I feel like I have been pretty failthful. I do keep finding "stufff" that shocked me had gluten in them, my cream rinse for one. The mood swings and fatique showed up about...
  17. Hi all, I hope I am doing this post correctly - I have been reading the posts on sleep and drinking. I have been a die hard white wine drinker for sometime, and I can admit that I rely on it to calm me down so I can relax and let my brain and body take a break. I am not saying this is a healthy way to take care of the problem, but for me it works. You...
  18. Hi all, this my first post, but I have been reading everyone elses posts for months. Thank you all for the great information that you share. I have a question about something I just read from one of you regarding be addicted to the wheat and going thru withdrawls. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in March of this year and have been very faithful to...
