  1. You're very welcome. It can be challenging to determine which products are gluten free. Sometimes, I think the safest bet is avoiding packaged products altogether.
  2. Thank you for your reply, Roda. Hopefully, I do not have much of a reaction to this product.
  3. I recently tried Similase brand digestive enzymes by Integrative Therapeutics for 3 days on the advice of my physician, and recently found out that the maltase in this product is derived from barley. I spoke to the company, and they let me know that the product contains less than 20 ppm of gluten, but I wanted to see if anyone on this forum has reacted to...
  4. Thanks Colleen, I am planning to give it a go with the drug. Hopefully all goes well.
  5. Thank you for your reply, Adalaide. This helps a lot.
  6. Thank you for your reply. They just said that they could not guarantee that the medication was gluten free, and they pointed me to an ingredients list, listed below. I did look on www.glutenfreedrugs.com , and Rifaximin was listed as gluten free. I am always a bit paranoid however, since manufacturers change ingredients/suppliers from time to time, which...
  7. I was recently diagnosed with small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) after a positive lactulose hydrogen breath test. My GI has prescribed me Rifaximin. I called the manufacturer, Salix Pharmaceuticals, and they could not confirm that Rifaximin is gluten free. Has anyone taken this antibiotic, and if so, do you know if it contains gluten? I would also...
  8. Thanks for your reply! The link you sent was very helpful.
  9. I have been reading about the benefits of Slippery Elm and Marshmallow Root for gut healing, and I was wondering if anyone on this forum can comment on whether using these herbs has been worthwhile. Also, if you have used them and had good results, what are some good gluten free brands?
  10. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your insight and hope to get to the bottom of it as well.
  11. Thank you for your reply. I had never considered histamine intolerance, but based on the list provided, I definitely have a high histamine diet. I am currently consulting with a dietitian, so I will ask her about it. Do you know if there are digestive enzymes that may be taken to improve the tolerance of histamines? Good Morning- Your diet is...
  12. Thank you for your reply. I recently read the study below, and I have weighed trying the gluten contamination elimination diet. If this episode continues, it may be the direction I take. I consider myself to be a fairly sensitive Celiac as well, and I am curious, which foods on my list would you consider to be suspicious or have previously given you symptoms...
  13. I am 11 months gluten free after being diagnosed last August, and after feeling a lot better over the last few months, I am beginning to have symptoms again. I have a completely gluten free kitchen (shared only with my wife), and have 100% avoided eating at restaurants since a cross contamination episode in March. I eat the following foods on a daily basis...
