    My 18 month old is very tiny she is in 1% for weight. She had diarrhea and constipation. Because she is so little the doctor ordered lab work her protein, c3 & c4 are low. So I upped her protein in her diet and they tested for protein in urine and a renal ultrasound. Thankfully her ultrasound came back good and there is no protein & blood in her urine...

    My daughter has not been tested yet. She suffers from horrible constipation. A gluten free diet helps, but every now and then something clogs her up again. I know every situation is different but how long after going gluten free did some of you see/feel changes?

    We have not got her tested yet....that is our next step. When she is gluten free she does well but every now and then something clogs her up again. It would be nice to have that diagnosis...or not.

    So we eat gluten free and I have found that I am totally fine with no gluten. I have found great substitutes and recipes for cookies, cakes and pasta but I NEED PIZZA!!!! Anybody out there know a great recipe or a premade yummy pizza. I have already tried udi's and it was horrible. Thanks everyone!

    Go to facebook and join the group parents against mirilax. Their advice has helped us tremendously with constipation. We also stopped eating gluten

    Did The GI make you do an endoscopy? or anything like that? And once he was gluten free are his symptoms gone? How well does he tolerate corn? I think her constipation could be gone but she is afraid to go, made GI appt but 1 month away. Thanks for the advise!

    Almost every gluten free product has corn in it. I'm starting to wonder if too much corn is making my toddlers constipation worse....Does anybody else have a prob with corn?

    Is nail biting a common celiac symptom? Sorry new and toddler might have celiac...still in the process of figuring it out. She bites her nails like crazy, also has chronic horrible constipation, low iron horrible tooth decay and snot looking stuff in her poop.

    O.k so I know the best thing to do is bring my baby to a GI dr. but after talking it over with her primary we decided before she goes through any crazy tests we should try a gluten free diet. My poor baby has been constipated since she was 8 months old we have tried everything from senna, prunes, tons of juice & enama's all of which relieve the constipation...

    Thank You for your kind words. Our plan is to keep a log of what she eats and when she poops. And we are cutting out gluten to see if that changes anything. Her teeth are a mystery to us too.... besides raisins and juice I never felt like she had anything bad enough for her to get a brand new tooth and 2 months later there was decay on it. Thanks again!
