  2. I feel for you guys as I was stumped with the lack of food choices for the first month or so of being gluten free and the food bill was soaring. My doctor wanted me to stick to a strict prescription diet after diagnosis but at £6.15 per item it was getting ridiculous. Shortly after that I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid which meant I became medically ...
  3. I had the biopsy test as well last year and theres really not a lot to it, stay calm and dont let your fears get the better of you. I had the option of either being knocked out or just throat numbed with the most horrible banana/fish tasting spray. I went for the latter wide awake procedure, done and dusted in about 5 mins and then off for a cuppa and toast...
  4. Thanks for the replies guys, I guess i'll just have to be more stringent when checking things in future and avoid anything that says wheat even if it says its ok.

I ate a couple of bags without reading the ingredients thinking i'd be alright as seen as they...

The other day I got a letter from my employer saying that I have to attend a disciplinary meeting because of my prolonged absence from work (Doctors note covered I might add) which may mean I lose my job. I mean wtf, discipline me for being ill, dont make me laugh, they really think I have a choice in the matter . I'd be upset...
  7. Thanks for the support and advice everyone. . I'm already on ssp / disability due to being off work as long term ill. My company sick pay only lasts for three months then they stop paying and that ran out a long time ago. Another so called benefit of my employer is my wages are insured for 90% of their value per year as part of a long time disability plan...
  8. Hi Rachel, Thanks for replying, its reassurring knowing that its all connected. I'm very sorry to hear about the troubles you've had with it. I suppose one of the main problems with celiac disease is people thinking its nothing too serious especially where employment is concerned. You should see some of the letters I've received off them because of...
  9. Hi, This is my first post so bear with me please. I've recently been diagnosed with celiac disease by means of blood tests and an gastroscopy / biopsies and am still waiting to see a dietician but have already taken steps to remove wheat from my diet. I've had my symptoms for nearly 2 years before diagnosis and have missed a lot of time from work because...
