  1. Great idea! We are doing Operation Christmas Child boxes with my sons cub scout den in a couple of weeks. Perfect way to put some of that candy to good use!
  2. Thanks for all the comments everyone! We sorted through all the candy separating the no and maybe no candy. We are going to negotiate what to do with the excess. What do you do with all that leftover candy?
  3. The bread sort of turned out. The middle is a bit sticky and will probably be dense because the extra water seems to have kept it from rising quite like it should have. I ate a couple of pieces though, and the taste was good - just a consistency thing. I look forward to getting it right next time!!!

  6. I just fired up the bread maker for the first time with Pamela's gluten-free Bread Mix. I just realized that I used 2 cups of water instead of 2 cups total liquid. Doh!   7. Well, the ulcerative colitis I was also diagnosed with will require lifelong meds! However, the worse I was thinking of was cancer or crohns disease (though ulcerative colitis and crohns are closely related, but UC only affects the lower intestine). I'll take lifelong meds and adjusted diet over chemo or radiation therapy!

  10. I got these results a couple of weeks ago...EGD with biopsy done last Friday to confirm. TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE AB, IGA = 22 IMMUNOGLOBULIN A = 250 ENDOMYSIAL ANTIBODY SCR (IGA) W/REFL TO TITER = Positive ENDOMYSIAL ANTIBODY TITER = 1:40 My 7 yr old son has celiac, so I imagine he "got" it from me genetically. I also had a colonoscopy done on Friday...
