  1. We avoided anything with glucose made from wheat as a precaution but recently a Dietician told me that the process of extracting the glucose ensures there is no gluten present. Is that what you guys have heard?
  2. She's a bit hopeless and doesn't take much care of her health. I keep wanting to help but ultimately, it's a puzzle without all the pieces.
  3. I've just spoken with a Naturopath who is also a Biochemist. He's going to go through my tests and try to help me. Definite issues with my gut (be it from celiacs or not) and he talked about certain enzymes and how it all affects the hormones (which I can vouch for as I also have major issues with regard to my hormones).
  4. Thank you Fenrir. I also have Scheuerman's disease (the degenerative one - not the bowing of the back one). It's astounding how GP's are clueless to what it means. I said to my GP it causes pain and she grabbed a Paediatric book off her shelf, looked it up (found the back bowing one) and down the list it said it doesn't cause pain - so that's is she says...
  5. I've had a bone fracture and then I had a scan for bone density which came back at the very bottom of the normal range. I fractured my spine unknowingly! Thank you kindly for your continued advice. I worry that a Dr will write me off as a know it all hypochondriac if I ask for specific things. I usually just suggest vague things and see if they lead on...
  6. She saw her specialist a few weeks later. Nobody a comes with her. I will keep asking her to get the report,
  7. No, it's difficult to ask for. I'm going to suggest it when I see a haemotologist for iron deficiency.
  8. I remember reading many years ago that we in Australia don't test for all the same genes that are tested for in other countries. Is this still the case? And in terms of antibody testing, are there standard tests run or do some Dr's do less comprehensive testing? I'm a little bit worried about requesting a screening if there is a chance they don't include...
  9. I had some test results come back today. Among the results I had low Urea, low Lymphocytes, very low ferritin and very low cholesterol. I'm curious if these can indicate a link with Celiac disease? I am guessing the lymphocytes are due to adrenal fatigue...but really I have no idea. My potassium levels are generally borderline and sometimes low.
  10. THanks Kareng. I can't request anything because it's her report. I've asked her numerous times but she's just unable to remember. I was hoping it rang some bells but maybe not. I'm constantly begging her to be tested for Celiac disease. Instead she battles every other known possible impact of celiacs disease but continues eating gluten.
  11. Hello guys My Mum had an endoscopy a while back and she's trying to recollect what was said (she has NO memory - or so it seems). She said the Dr described lines that he doesn't normally see and is indicative of something a ruther. She can't remember what he said. Does that sound anything like what Celiac disease can look like?
  12. I cheat with rice, but only white rice. I seem to tolerate it well. I can't tolerate quinoa or beans etc. I can't much tolerate nuts or coconut either, but I seem fine with coconut cream. Odd. You can use a few flours with Paleo, like arrowroot I think, and maybe buckwheat and mixtures of nut flours. We also use coconut flour. It works out quite well...
  13. Thank you so much cycling lady. Yes, just having one diagnosis in the family would help. I have a daughter who is suspected celiac and we are more strict with her. She's had her adult teeth come through marked, as I've read is quite typical for those with celiacs. She's only been gluten free for maybe years and there's definitely been some cross contamination...
  14. Thank you Greenbeanie. I feel certain I have some sort of gluten issue and I wondered if this particular development indicates I should be more vigilent about my gluten intake. I haven't had gluten for ages really, but I don't check vitamins and medicines very often, nor hair or skin products.
  15. I eat gluten free but also have intolerance to many foods. I use my gut as a guide. In terms of actual allergy, so many of the positives can be false so if you were eating them before without trouble, I'd try them again, only do it at a time and day when you can treat yourself should you react.
