  1. Yes she has had repeat blood work and everything was normal.  I've gone to top doctors in the area (NYC). She's been tested for everything all negative.  Wondering if another food sensitivity.  Ennis-- I'm going to try this-- put her on a bland diet for a few days.  Everyone is great! Thank you!

  2. My daughter (age 12) was diagnosed 5 years ago as a celiac.  Five years on a gluten free diet and she continues to have reactions, severe stomach aches, constipation.  The past few months have been really bad.  Eliminating dairy and a lot of processed gluten-free foods have helped a lot.  Sticking to whole foods helps.  However, she is still reacting to something .  Our house is gluten-free so not cross contamination.  Has anyone tried food sensitivity testing, like the ALCAT test?  Was it helpful?  Do you feel you got accurate results?   Did insurance pay for it?  Who prescribed the test? We're going crazy with the elimination diet, it is just too hard...also I feel that she eats some foods and doesn't react for a few days.  Impossible to figure out!  She has had all conventional testing and allergy testing....everything negative.

    Thank you!!!

  3. Ok, so I guess I'll go over the bloodwork and see if they did the DGP?  Or request it?  Maybe somehow she is still getting glutened (she was diagnosed with celiac, by endoscopy 5 years ago).  Or perhaps it is another autoimmune causing malabsorption.  Her iron levels, vit D, etc were all good.  Pressing doctor to do more tests.  Why are the doctors sooooo reluctant to test!  I have insurance....

  4. My 12 year old daughter who has celiac (diagnosed 5 years ago)  just had l bloodwork done last week.  She has been having stomach aches.  Suspected she may have been glutened.  Doctor wanted to check antibodies and also her iron levels, cbc etc...She has been gluten-free for 5 years.  Her bloodwork is "clean" for gluten.  However,  her alkaline phosphatase level is low.  She has stopped gaining weight over the past 2 years.  Really a struggle.  Gastro claims since she's not anemic, vit d level normal says "it is not malabsorption".   Her  AP level was 91 in October of 2015 and 98 Sept 2016.  She has not or does not appear to be going thru puberty.   Different docs, different answers.   Gastro is worried, endochronologist says not a big deal (yes we had growth hormones checked at hospital and body is producing them), regular pediatrician thinks she's just a skinny kid (feed her well).   She still has stomach symptoms.  I posted last week and got great responses, however that was before the bloodwork.  Very worrisome since we only have so much time before puberty hits and growth stops.  BTW, regular pediatrician wants her to eliminate dairy for 2 weeks to see if she feels better. (Not a problem)  Nutritionist doesn't agree....arrrrghhhhhh

  5. Yes I've been thinking that could be the case.  I've already brought her to the pediatric GI.  She just "doesn't know".  We have been making sure she's not constipated (she's not).  Very frustrating.  I see one of your interests is making teens eat vegetables!  Me too! Good luck with that...Thank you

  6. Help! My 12 year old has been gluten free for 5 years.  However, she gets a really bad stomach ache, "sloshing" (her description), and reflux a couple of times a month.   Our blood tests keep coming back "clean", no contamination.  However, I suspect she is getting glutened.  It seems a lot of "gluten-free" foods (cheerios!, sunmaid raisins, certain brands of almond milk).  I keep a food and symptom diary but it is really hard to pinpoint what it may be sometimes.  For the past week she has had terrible stomach aches and reflux.  I try to keep our kitchen clean. The only "gluten" in the house is bread for my non celiac husband.  We've gone through EVERY test-- negative!   Questions:  who else has gone through this and what did you do to get better?   Do you eliminate dairy for a while after getting glutened?  Is it gluten at all?  She has tested negative for other food allergies and is not lactose intolerant.  Anyone try "holistic" doctors?  Live in US and getting NO WHERE with our conventional docs.  Help!
