  1. I've noticed many, many posts on this and some other websites from people who believe they have been fed cross contaminated food at a restaurant, resulting in nausea and vomiting either immediately or withing a few hours. I have searched and cannot find that particular symptom (vomiting immediately) on a list of Celiac symtoms, but am wondering if it might...
  2. I think that these gluten-free chips are really good! There are several different flavor choices, all based on sweet potato. They also make gluten-free crackers, but I havn't tried those yet. They were available in my local market. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Recently diagnosed with Celiac, but am still having some digestive issues and wonder if I might have a dairy intolerance, I know that I should stay away from dairy to see if that helps, but I would also love to find a forum as knowledgable and helpful as this Celiac Forum where I can get good, up-to-date information and advice. Does such a forum exist for...
  4. I couldn't find the others either, so I bought a (sample) three pack with Penne, Rotini, and Elbows from Amazon, but it is waaaayy too expensive. I figured I would try them out and if I like them, I'll try to get my local grocery to order them for me. They did order the spaghetti when asked. I hope you enjoy the Barilla. Some people seem to like other...
  5. For those who don't mind getting even more confused, you might check this site:Open Original Shared Link This study was mainly looking at comparing two methods of serum testing for Celiac, but along the way he makes some interesting statements regarding the value of the TTG, IGG results.
  6. Hi Whitefairy, I can't be of much help because I'm still trying to figure out why I only show positive for the tTG IgG and negative for everything else. My understanding (with lots of help from the wonderful people on this forum) is that the tTG,IGG is 95 % accurate in the the sensitivity category. The lab that did my blood work was Quest Diagnostics and...
  7. The Red Robin in San Bernardino, CA uses a wonderful Gluten-free hamburger bun made by French Meadow Bakery/Cafe in Minnesota. They are individually wrapped. Unfortunately, French Meadow no longer sells their products on line to individuals, but they seem to have quite a broad restuarant clientel. The hamburger bun that I ate at Red Robin was absolutely...
  8. Thanks for responding. I still have a lot to learn.
  9. Here is what I did with my Barilla spaghetti. I heated the sauce separately and set it aside. I cooked the spaghetti (lots of water and salt and lots of stirring the first couple of minutes) and when it was al dente, I drained it and then dumped it into a bowl of cool water while I finished prepping. Took a a non-stick frying pan, melted a little butter...
  10. I don't know. Some herbs or spices, maybe? How about some cheese? I can dream, can't I?
  11. I have recently had occasion to try Barilla gluten-free Spaghetti and using it both as first day and warm up recipes I am surprisingly surprised. Barilla isn't as "out there" as other gluten-free products, but it should be. I got my local small market to order it and have used it three times. First time, boiled to al dente and rinsed and then covered with...
  12. Thanks! There must be something they can add to give it some flavor?
  13. After reading lots and lots of the posts in this forum, I see that there is little or no reference to an EMA IgG test. Is that because it is redundant to the tTg IgG test result. Just curious. Thanks.
  14. If and when I try again, I'll be sure to order extra stuff on top, although if it's as cold as the one I had the other day, it won't help. I was probably incorrect about the corn taste. My taste buds still haven't acclimated to the taste of other flours. Thanks for the responses.
  15. That would be great! Thanks.
  16. Finally tried a California Pizza Kitchen in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and was pretty disappointed. I do think that the pizza was gluten free, but the pizza was almost cold when it was served and maybe just because I'm pretty new to the gluten-free type products, I really, really didn't like the pizza crust - very corn tasting and the texture just wasn't right...
  17. Hi folks, checking in again with a new question. After some heavy duty persuasion, my doctor (Internist) ordered a Total IGA serum blood test for me. The result was 132, which is definitely in the normal range. So..the only positive result was my TTG, IGG number, which was 10 (reference range >6 is high). My question is this: Where would I get the IGG...
  18. Sorry, I'm late to this party but I had to chip in: my first two attempts using the ATK bread recipe, I ended up with a good bread flavor but the loaves were also incredibly dense! Yesterday I tried the recipe in the bread maker and made couple of tweaks and it turned out to be a beautiful "perfect" loaf - really - of sandwhich bread. Here is what I did...
  19. Thanks. I just read the page you linked to and copied it into my Celiac file. My doctor (internist) doesn't seem to think that it's important that I know one way or the other, but I do think that I should let nieces and brother know if it is Celiac. He said that a 10 on the TTG, IgG was borderline, but he couldn't tell me what the benchmarks were in upper...
  20. Thanks for sharing your son's experience. Talk about a roller coaster ride! It really is frustrating not being able to pin things down, even more so for you when it's your son you're worrying about. Thanks again, I'll keep this information in mind.
  21. Still trying to pin down whether I have Celiac Disease or Non-Celiac Gluten Intolerence. Based on a suggestion from a forum member, I just had my IGA total serum test and won't know the results for awhile. But.. I have a question about normal levels based on the descriptions that I have read in a few online articles. The articles offer several possible outcomes...
  22. Right now my favorite gluten-free restaurant in the Riverside/San Bernardino, CA area has to be Red Robin. Not because their food is so outstanding, but because it's the only place that I've had the courage to try so far - my second month into gluten-free. I will say that the food was okay, but I'd give my eye teeth to know the recipe for their hamburger...
  23. Once more, thanks for your help. I assume the Immunoglobulin A test would flag deficient IGA? Anyway, I'll ask to have that included in my next blood test. Heliosue
  24. nvsmom. Thanks so much for the quick (and very informative reply). That (U) designation is one of the the areas I was confused about. Maybe you can make some sense from the reference ranges that I didn't include in my original message. The report shows that the reference range for the DGP (IGA) is: < 20 units Antibody not detected and > or =...
  25. I'm about as new as one can get, both to my Celiac diagnosis and this forum. I'm afraid I might be going over old questions and answers on this forum, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. The following are the results from recent lab work and other than being generally confusing because the results appear to contradict each other, I am having trouble...
