  1. So I'm three weeks into gluten-free. I've now gone a record ten days without vomiting (hurray!), which is great, and I've adapted pretty well I think; found good, reasonably healthy replacements for my staples, came up with a few things I love I acn have as a treat when I need it (thank you, slurpees!), and haven't had gluten in three weeks (after two weeks...
  2. Ok, I'm a frozen yogurt fan. It's convenient, there's a bunch of gluten-free flavors, delicious, and pretty reasonable when it comes to calories. Does anyone know if there are toppings that are generally gluten-free? I'm not a huge toppings fan, but some sprinkles or peanuts make things all the more excellent. I imagine I could call the various companies...
  3. So having spent the last months reading thousands and thousands of pages on celiac and gluten and so on, I feel pretty confident in the knowledge (if not quite yet the practice) of what I'm supposed to do (note that I have non-celiac gluten intolerance, not celiac). One sticky wicket remains: oats. I have long eaten oatmeal for breakfast every day (with cinnamons...
  4. Thanks for the thoughts. It's pretty clear to me this is a long haul effort, but given that it seems to take days to recover and I get glutened remarkably often, it's a big disheartening. Nevertheless, I shall stick to it.
  5. Thanks! I did read this (and, gloriously, thousands of pages and books and websites because when you feel as crappy as I was (and I know every one of you understands) you're really, really motivated. I've been increasingly careful, but I think it's coming down to either I'm one of those people who needs to be exceedingly careful, or I'm off on the wrong track...
  6. I'm just finishing my third gluten-free week. During the weeks, it goes really well, and I'm feeling really good. Because I'm a creature of habit and lazy, I basically eat a small number of things during the week (oatmeal, chicken, yogurt, etc.), so I swapped out Quaker for gluten-free oatmeal, threw out some mustards and bought gluten-free ones, stopped...
  7. Thanks! I'm a little leery about posting the tests on the net (it's not you, it's me!), but he did the blood test, a stool test to check for other things, and an endoscopy with biopsy, all of which came back saying I have nothing (except for heartburn, which, frankly, I could have told you!). If there's something specific I should look for, I'd appreciate...
  8. So I'm new to the gluten-free world, and hoping my life becomes less of a pain (and vomit!) filled slog. I finished the diagnostics a few weeks ago, after which my GI doctor informed me that I don't have celiac (and sorry if this is a celiac-only board, but I haven't found a similar place to talk about related disorders, and thought you all might be willing...
