  1. Thanks, I don't mind space age prison food as long as its gluten free and has enough nutrients I don't think there is a suitable full meal replacement option as of yet for celiacs. I'll be looking into MRM & Pioneer though, thanks. Guess I will be doing as you said and sticking to lots of fresh veg, nuts & seeds etc. Its going to be hard to find...
  2. Thanks for this, I just posted in search for gluten-free meal replacement while I'm travelling. Are these sorts of shakes nutritious enough to replace whole meals?
  3. Hi there, I am about to do a few months of travel for my work (Stockholm, Leipzig) and am looking into meal replacement (shakes etc.) as an option for my time away. My kind of work involves a lot of eating out etc. and I haven't really got to the point where I am comfortable eating out lots (dx 18 months ago). I mostly cook my own meals at home so I...
  4. Hi there, Just got my follow up biopsy results after being dx with celiac 7 months ago (dx with blood test + biopsy). Could anyone help interpret these new results as the doc wasn't much help... Basically he said good news is it looks like gut has healed up due to gluten-free diet. Bad news is that he has no explanation as to why I still have all of...
  5. Thanks a lot. Puts my mind at ease... The glass is another story :S
  6. Hi all, I have been gluten free for around 2months now after being diagnosed with celiac disease. I think I may have just been glutened - I had a sip of Chevas Regal Blended Scotch Whiskey while catching up with some old friends. For some reason my brain was switched off and I wasn't even thinking about gluten despite being so meticulous when it comes...
  7. Thank you both for your answers. @Nicki Raeleen Good to know after a year you are able to maintain a solid weight. I have been going to every kind of doctor since December 2013 searching for answers regarding my pain and breathing. It all came up after a nasal surgery... Celiac was just something I randomly brought up to my GP because of my weight...
  8. Hi all, Have been gluten free for 2 weeks now after being diagnosed via positive bloods and biopsy. Wanted to ask how long roughly before my body will be able to start absorbing nutrients again as I've lost so much weight and muscle over the past couple of years. I'm no longer able to workout since December 2013 due to a neuropathic pain condition and extreme...
  9. Very true... Wise words. Just thought I'd give a quick update - had my endoscopy a couple of days ago where they took the biopsies. Will get my results in a week, however the doc who took the biopsies said I definitely have celiac. Started gluten free diet yesterday. Looking forward to regaining a part of my life Thanks all.
  10. Thanks nvsmom. Great to hear that you've had such an improvement. There is hope...
  11. Thanks so much nvsmom - really helpful answer How long were you gluten free before you started noticing an improvement?
  12. Are my results pretty normal, high or low for someone with celiac? thanks
  13. Hi cyclinglady, thanks for your response. I am looking forward to starting the gluten free diet asap. Hopefully it will mark the beginning of recovery for me. I've had no diagnosis over the past 2 years so I'm really hoping I can see an improvement in my condition. Even the smallest change will be a huge positive. Thanks again.
  14. Hi all, I'm new to this forum. Since a surgery in April 2013 I have had ongoing health issues which have led from one thing to another. I've had no specific diagnosis for anything going on which has left me feeling very helpless. I wont go into specifics in this post but I've basically ended up with extreme breathing difficulties and a neuropathic pain...
