  1. Hmm! Sometimes I think I say too much! lol. I have to wonder squirmingitch if the gluten-free products are better on your side of the water. Here I can't say I am impressed by what I have tried.
  2. Good morning Bartfull, I hope last night was easier for you, and if not i hope Patches was on duty with you. A lovely story, sounds like you were definitely adopted. Manasota, really I do miss my dogs all the time at the moment, but they were both over 14 and always had great countryside lives, so I knew it was coming. Unfortunately, this came at...
  3. Ouch! Now DO NOT feel guilty as I completely understand where you are coming from. On the 29th December just gone I had to have the second of my 2 lovely little dogs put to sleep. My little Archie was also a star when I was feeling down, and would always show up for a cuddle when I needed one most. I had his sister Bezzle, until last August too. They were...
  4. I love the idea of a pity party. With Cold Play albums on a continuous loop, and a coffin in the corner full of doughnuts, pies and pastries where the buffet table should have been!
  5. I am generally a lot funnier in my less toxic state of being. So not performing so much as just trying to keep bit of me out of the pit. But I do feel a bit lighter now at the bedtime end of the day, and in the morning it will be 8 days left. I'm definitely a rollercoaster of emotions right now. The only one I am free of right now is the irritations. Probably...
  6. Thank you Manasota, I haven't been doing too bad head wise till a few days ago. The Black Dog (Another one of Churchill's, his name for his depression) really has got me at the moment. It's like standing against the flow of a fast river. If it wasn't for my collection of singing potatoes I think I would have gone quite mad by now!
  7. Thank you guys. 9 days to go now, and I am finding it harder and harder to see the funny side of things. The cramps, mal-absortion, fatigue, glassy spine, headaches...... And to finish it all off I am getting into the head problems now. I am getting the darkest, ugliest thoughts to make time drag. I just want tosleep till the 26th.
  8. Hello again everyone, So, as I said before i am back in my home country after not living here since 2003. All a bit of a shock on it's own, regardless of the medical side. As far as the medical side, things are moving forward well. By not remembering how the system here really worked (and paying my way through a couple of doors) I have managed...
  9. Hello to you all and happy new year. I don't have anything to say just yet. Other than I have moved country since I last signed in and i am now busy trying to crowbar my way into the medical system. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the help I have received on my post. You really have my gratitude. I received a real boost from you and...
  10. Thank you Manasota, I don't think the doctors will be quite so dismissive, but I am worried about how much beating about the bush I will have to listen to before we get to the nitty-gritty of the subject. But as you rightly say I have the legs to find a different doctor if things aren't going fast enough for me. :-)
  11. I really can't thank you kind people enough for taking the time to reply to me here. "when i first found this forum, i read and cried and read and cried some more. i could have written most of the posts i read. o, wow, that's why i have....." That sums it up for me too Notme! I have taken a real boost from the things you have written here and in the...
  12. I am afraid I am in no position to offer any advice. I can only say I hope you can get to the root of your problems and feel better soon.
  13. Yes I see. I was just wondering, if with practice you guys can gauge when you have contaminated yourselves by your symptoms, or is it more a case any of these symptoms can pop up whenever until your system is gluten free?
  14. Good morning Squirmingglitch and thank you for your welcome. I can't really imagine, If that was my partner and I both in a rage. No don't like to think. Fair play to both of you, really. I was thinking about this in the last week since I have found the useful information. I can now at least focus my thoughts towards a specific problem and set of goals...
  15. Hello Manasota, Happy Christmas to you. Thank you for the book reference I will look that up. And thank you for such a thoughtful reply. It has come as a great relief to me to find these forums. Obviously that has opened a whole new can of worms and worries, but at least I feel I have something to aim at. Rather than feeling like like a peasant from...
  16. Thank you MarcMoncravie, I have now taken contamination far more seriously. And for this last year I have been so good and not given in to any bready urges at all. Of course now I am thinking the Doctor is just going to tell me to eat gluten anyway for testing, which I am dreading. Thanks for taking the time to reply Marc it is nice not to be feeling...
  17. This is something I am really worried about too. When the doctors says "eat gluten". I stopped intentionally eating gluten a year back, but contamination has been a problem. A double edged sword I think. All year I have been wanting to eat all the things I shouldn't, and now I am going to have to I am dreading it. What do I do? Lock myself in a room...
  18. Hello to everyone here. As I am sure in the same way that many of you have found this site, I am here trying to work out what on earth is happening to me. I have had no medical diagnoses as yet, but I am going to start that as soon as the new year allows. I first started to cut things from my diet about 2 years ago, as I felt things were not right, and...
