  1. Hi everyone - just a quick question! Having a bit of a party tonight, and someone has brought Rekorderlig for me as they heard it was gluten-free. Usually I'm a wine lady, but do like a bit of cider! From what I can tell, it is gluten-free...but just wanted to check before indulging. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

  3. Hi guys. I know this is a topic that has come up before, but I'd appreciate a little bit of advice. I've been 'courting' a guy for the past few months; nothing has happened yet but we have a proper date in a few weeks which is likely to lead to kissing. He didn't even know what a ceoliac was until a few days ago; I don't think he'd caught the hints that I'd been dropping beforehand. English isn't his first language - he's east Asian. Anyway, I've heard about being potentially glutened via a kiss. How do I broach this? I don't want to scare him off or make him think that I'm a lot of hard work; I know, I know, he's going to have to accept me as I am, etc. but for someone new to the entire thing, it is likely overwhelming. It would be for me if I'd never heard of it! Do I laughingly bring it up beforehand? We aren't going for food so if he isn't eating, just having a cup of tea, will I still need to be careful? If this seems safe, do I just let him kiss me and then bring up afterwards that any future kisses after food will have different precautions? It all feels so clinical! He's a lovely guy so I do think he'll be understanding, but if anyone has any advice of first hand experience on how to approach the topic without it being a weird moment, that would be great.
  4. Hi everyone. Just looking for a bit of advice/support, really. I was diagnosed a ceoliac around late April. I can't eat gluten, dairy, or soya. I'm also reacting to corn, which I found out the hard way. Anyway, I've had some slip-ups of cc which have been painful. I know this sets me back a lot. Aside from my slipups, I've been eating healthily - fruit, veg, fish, etc. No processed food apart from the gluten free bread (Warburton's Bakehouse), my butter substitute spread, and now and again a slice of vitalife cheese. However, I'm still getting days where I feel so ill. I've been bloated and a bit constipated recently which are both big signs for me, yet can't figure it out. I work in a cafe but wear gloves in the kitchen and I'm very careful. I have gluten-free body products and my washing up liquid is safe. Is this all normal? Today my tummy has been bloated and hard. I just can't figure it out. Does this happen to us all, or am I being inadvertently glutened?
  5. Hi everyone, I'm a recently diagnosed ceoliac and pretty sensitive to products, too. I live with someone who adores using Brut aftershave and recently got a lovely gift set of it, but he's holding off using it again until we can be sure if it's gluten free. I've scoured the internet but can't find anything...can anyone spot gluten in this list of ingredients? I don't even know what I'm looking for. Thanks, guys!   6. Hi everyone, I'm a recently diagnosed ceoliac. I'm 25 (female), and I've been free from gluten and dairy for 4 days and yesterday the pains from withdrawal hit me - aching joints, sharp pains, foggy mind, etc. Yet yesterday night my stomach felt good and unbloated for the first time in so long. Today, however, I've woken with a tender lower stomach and swollen legs that have increased as the day progressed - swollen legs having been a nightmare for me throughout this entire time. My hands are also prone to swelling and I get bad water retention. My upper stomach isn't TOO bad. I'm still feeling constipated, too, which isn't helping. How long do these withdrawals last? Does anyone know how to overcome them or at least ease them? Especially the leg swelling - I work on my feet all day so it's hard. Did anyone else suffer from the leg swelling? I feel really lost and confused because no doctor has given me any guidance other than "don't eat gluten and dairy". Please help! I feel so out of control and low!
