  1. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's good to know that this is somewhat to be expected. Do you all take anti-diarrhea meds or just let things run their course after glutening?
  2. Thanks everyone! Sounds like most butters are safe!
  3. I'm a newly diagnosed celiac, just about two months into recovering. I was feeling soooo much better and my bowels were almost back to normal. Well...then my husband and I went out to eat this weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. They seemed very knowledgable and concerned with cross contamination. About 15 hours later I got incredibly sick (cramping...
  4. What kind of peanut butter or nut butters do you all use? Do I really need to spend $10+ on a jar that specifically says "gluten free" or can I trust that say, trader joes peanut butter-which lists only dry roasted peanuts and salt as the ingredients, is safe? This is all so new to me, and I'm going to meet with a nutritionist in a few weeks to have some...
  5. How do I go about getting tested for other food allergies besides gluten? I'm 3 weeks into my celiac diagnoses via blood and just had my positive biopsy come back so I guess it's official! I'm feeling better being off gluten, but I want to know if I have other intolerances or allergies. Where do I get tested? Do I need a referral from a GI dr or primary dr...
  6. Thank you all so much for your replies! I'm going to do my best to stay away from the "scary information" out there on Google and just take things one day at a time. Xoxoxo

  8. This week my doctor told me that I tested positive for celiac. She ran the test for endomysium iga which was positive, and also the ttg iga which was 12. Anything higher than a 10 is a positive. I'm just wondering how some people have ttg levels in the 300's? Is that a different test and scoring system? Does this mean that I caught my celiac early? I think...
  9. I was recently diagnosed as having celiac and to be honest the part I'm having the most trouble with isn't the change in food or lifestyle. I'm really upset about what I've read about the risk of cancer increasing with celiac disease. I think this is playing into my fears because I currently have lymph nodes all over my body-my Doctor says they are not considered...
