  1. thanks for the informations Is there any particular ingredient/additive that I should look for in the shampoo label to know if it contains gluten? Or are there specific gluten-free brands? thanks
  2. I did the test for gluten and casein. Both positive Actually, casein = 10 units... so it's borderline. I am excluding that too, I don't tolerate dairy too well. Didn't test for soy, but yes I am staying away from it too. It seems that people intolerant to gluten/casein also have problems with soy because it contains proteins that are similar to the gluten...
  3. Hi everyone, I am in a similar situation, 5 months of diet (tested positive to gluten intolerace with enterolab) and recovering veeery slowly. I've been recently reading a lot of material about heavy metal toxicity especially about dental amalgams, and I was amazed to read how many people discover that their problems are related to the mercury fillings...
  4. Hi, and thanks for your response. About personal care products... I already read some stuff about it, question is... is there a way that I can discover possible traces of gluten from just the label? Example, my wife uses an hydrating face cream which is mostly based on natural ingredients, however many of them have very "exotic" names, and I can't really...
  5. Hello, I've recentely bought an interesting book about magnesium, one of the most important (if not THE most important) mineral for the human body. The book is actually written by an Italian doctor but it refers to many international studies, so I guess the same informations are available in english etc... I've read a lot of interesting things about...
  6. Hello, yesterday I finished my 5th month of gluten-free/dairy-free diet and if look back I can say that I've obtained a 20-25% improvement of my symptoms (mostly GI symptoms) I started the diet even before testing with enterolab because I started reading alot about food-intolerances and my symptoms were just the same (constipation, bloating, stomach...
  7. Yep, I've been on a gluten-free/df diet for almost 4 months and symptoms started getting better. Unfortunately in those 4 months I also made a few mistakes, plus I intentionally had gluten for a few days to check what happened before I got my results from enterolab.
  8. I am just wondering if what's happening to me is a usual symptom... One of the most annoying problem is that I often get so bloated that I have difficulties sitting in the car for too long an driving, or keeping certain positions where the abdomen is compressed (even tying the shoes!!) Also vacuuming, which involves keeping the abdomen a little compressed...
  9. I see... So do you keep a very strict diet? I mean, for example, do you avoid cooking with the same pots where gluten food was cooked (of course, after washing it) ? I try to avoid obvious contamination (like forks/spoons etc...) but I am not particularly "paranoid" Another question: do you only buy "certified" gluten-free foods or you just check the...
  10. ( whooops, I should apologize with the admins, I should have posted this in the post-diagnosis section ) Thanks for your responses. So what matters is being positive or not, I see... Also I can imagine that everyone reacts differently even with same test values, of course. In ten days I'll be entering my 5th month of exclusion of both...
  11. First of all let me say that this board is just fantastic, I've found so many informations here! It's a great resource! I'd need a little help in interpreting the Enterolab results that I received this morning. I did the full panel and I was found positive to "Fecal Antigliadin IgA" and anti-casein IgA Here're the values: Fecal Antigliadin IgA ...
  12. I think the article comes from this website >> Open Original Shared Link The homepage is this >> Open Original Shared Link arial
  13. Thanks chrissy, however I think what Rachel--24 wrote is right. Correct me if I am wrong: allergies are immune reactions that happen almost immediately after you eat/breathe or touch the allergen (substance causing the allergy). Wikipedia has a detailed page about it >> Open Original Shared Link Also the allergy is characterized by the presence...
  14. Thanks for the info I will look for a professional nutritionist in my area for more help. About slowly adding one thing at a time, what would you reccomend from your experience? Something like 4-5 weeks would be reasonable?
  15. Interesting. About the basic diet, which veggies in particular? Intolerances can be caused by vegetables too... maybe some of them are unlikey to cause problems, but for example tomatoes are very well known among the "problematic" foods Thanks
  16. Thanks for your replies! lonewolf: Nice to hear that. I've already heard that in some cases it can be very precise. How does the score system work? Basically they give you a score for each food tested? StrongerToday: The food log idea is something I'd like to try. How would you proceed? Do you eliminate one family of food at a time...
  17. Hello, I've recently discovered this very nice board and I've already found very interesting informations. I'd like to ask a couple of questions related with ELISA food intolerance tests. I've found many different articles on the web talking about the IgG tests etc... and I'd like to understand how reliable these tests are. The more articles I read...
