  1. Thanks for the responses. Sounds like the airline's promises they make are not always fulfilled. Airlines have gotten bad recently though b/c half the time they don't want to give you anything and if you want a crappy little meal it is 5 bucks! Kinda' stinks b/c I travel a lot and (appr 2 weeks/month) and I am usually getting off an airplane just to...
  2. I travel a lot and I checked on several of the airlines I most frequently use and their websites state that they offer in flight gluten free meals. Has anyone ever requested a gluten free meal while on an airplane? How far in advance did you have to make the request? Was it a painful experience?
  3. Speaking of the Celiac blood panel...you said it is no good? Why? Any other test more reliable? I had the celiac blood panel done last week and I would like to know what is included in that panel. Does anyonw know? Also, it has been almost a week...does it really take that long? I have yet to change my diet b/c I dont want to mess up the biopsy...
  4. Well, after reading everyone else's horrible dr stories I guess Ill add mine. I went to my GP and told him how tired I have been and that I am always constipated, etc. I knew something had been wrong with me b/c I am young, healthy, exercise, eat right, etc. When I told him about the constipation he laughed and TOLD ME TO EAT A BANANNA!!!! Can you belive...

    ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten

I saw 2 people post something about dry roasted nuts. Can anyone confirm dry roasted nutes have gluten b/c I JUST ate a TON of them. I thought I would be safe with nuts.
  6. Lemonade, Thanks for the advice too b/c my husband was asking me if I was going to make the meals (all no gluten, 2 meals, etc) since I usually make all of the dinners. I think it is a fair trade for the cooked meals to be gluten free and the eat out, carry out, etc be the times when the non celiacs eat gluten with no shame. I'll let you know how...
  7. Thanks for the encouragemet. I don't think anyone can really understand until they have the stomach and all of the other problems and know how miserable it is. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
  8. Fiddle-Faddle, Just a recommendation...I have tried the sports mouth guards and they seem to be a bit clunky and difficult to get used to. I usually would end up spitting them out in the middle of the night while I slept. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time but I really like the ones the dentists make b/c they are small, fit nicely to the teeth...
  9. Maybe I am jumping the gun b/c my blood test results are not back yet but... Anyone have friends and family that act like Celiac is no big deal. "Ohh, the diet won't be that bad...I know someone with it and he/she will eat stuff every once in a while, you just can't eat bread". I guess I am not taking this lightly and I am kind of discouraged by my family...
  10. I am a teeth grinder too. I have had to wear a night guard for years now. Most morning I wake up and my jaw is sore. I wake my husband up from the noise of me grinding my teeth (says it sounds like I am eating rocks). I have always had really sensitive teeth too. The dentist said this is b/c I have pretty much no enamel. I haven't been dx yet...
  11. I have not been dx with celiac disease yet (having blood test tonight) but I am tired all of the time. B/c I am tired all of the time I always drink Red Bulls to make it through the day awake and not get fired from my job. Does anyone know if Red Bulls contain Gluten? I am not familiar with all of the hidden forms of gluten so I do not know.
  12. Thanks for the help. Now I can atleast pronouse what is wrong with me. Well, I guess I can't say I have it yet b/c I will have the test tomorrow. However, I dont think I have ever wanted a disease more....I just want to find out what is wrong with me b/c I have been feeling bad for so long. This is a cool message board. I can see how it can be very...
  13. Hello. New to message board. I just went to my doctor today and scheduled a blood test for celiac disease in 2 days. How is it pronounced? Anyway...I have had GI troubles for a while now including: gas, constipation, bloating, distended lower stomach, fatigue, I eat a small meal and I feel like I just got done with Thanksgiving dinner. I have been...
