man, i really wish i had seen this before.
i'm doing my senior thesis project on celiac disease and i have to write a "scientific" paper and everything. i want to be a gastrointerologist.
is there anyway i can come and sit in?
I was told that I have an abnormal thyroid something or other. I guess it isn't serious because my doctor hasn't taken action on it. I think it's hypo because I have all those symptoms like brain fog, constipation, cold problems and irritablity. And MAN have I gained stupid weight.
Well, I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one. It doesn't get to me as much as it used to, as I'm getting more and more used to eating gluten-free.
Do any of you have relatives or friends that think your lying, either that you do in fact have celiac or that the allergy is so severe?
Because I was diagnosed so late, some of my friends "accept" that I don't eat gluten or dairy, but they assume I'm making it up.
I too have been recently diagnosed and am going away to college in the fall.
If you live in California there is a state law (405) requiring that the college must provide accomidations for those with conditions such as mental disorders and sever peanut allergies. I'm not sure if it also relates to those with gluten intoherances, but I'm calling the 405...
