  1. I am still trying to find a great tasting bread that tastes as close to white bread as possible. I saw these 2 breads at the gluten-free Mall. Has anyone tried these. What are your opinions. I have tried so many and they are dry and very crumbly. Even the bread I make at home is dry. I have not tried Pamelas yet but I am planning on ordering it. Thanks...
  2. I logged on to post an inquiry about better tasting bread and found this post. I have spent so much money on horrible gluten-free bread and then have made it from scratch and also bought Bob's bread mix. It is so dry. I am very careful to follow the instructions to a tee. I am sure there has to be something I can add more of or less of to make it more...
  3. That is not the same as guar gum, is it?
  4. Thanks for the info!! I will have to look and see if there is an Asian grocery store close by. That is considerably cheaper!!
  5. Well that is good to know that the xanthum gum goes along way. Should I put all of my flours in the refrigerator or freezer, or just the brown rice? I bought white rice flour potato starch tapioca starch of course the xanthum gum Thanks Texas Celiac
  6. Hi Mart, My 3 year old is very small and skinny. He is 28 pounds. I have been diagnosed with Celiac and I highly suspect that he has it also. In addition, he is allergic to milk products. This started after I stopped breastfeeding. He became VERY CONSTIPATED. It was so painful for him. He also had streaks of blood in his stools and abdominal pain...
  7. I started my gluten-free diet 3 weeks ago. I went to the market today and bought my flours and xanthum gum for baking. WOW!!! I spent a fortune. I had been warned that xanthum gum is not cheap, but I paid $13.00 for 12 oz. Can I get this any less expensive? The only flour that I could find in bulk was brown rice and white rice. Corn starch, potato...
  8. Oooo thank you. I am going to check out that web site and try the recipe. Where do you get Anna's mix? From the Gluten Free Mall or Central Market? Texas Celiac
  9. I bought Bette Hagman's Gluten Free Gourmet Comfort Foods and I am going to try a few bread recipes. I need to purchase the flour since I just started on my gluten free diet 2 weeks ago. I am hoping that someone will share their own personal gluten-free white bread recipe with me since individual taste vary from person to person. This may be a trial...

  13. Hi all, I have celiac disease and Grave disease. I started my gluten-free diet about 2 weeks ago. I have 4 children and I am going to get them all the celiac blood panel. I highly suspect that my 3 year old has celiac disease and either a milk allergy or is lactose intolerant. He is 27 pounds and is very small and thin for his age. He also has developmental...
