  1. It has been a week. I wasn't sure how long I should wait before I call.
  2. Are they looking for certain kind of cells? If there is no obvious damage, I just don't see how a biopsy would confirm it.
  3. I was a total nervous wreck! I kept asking my husband if they had to yell at me to get to wake up because while I was waiting I had to lay out in the hall listening to them yelling at everyone to wake them up. Other than feeling kind of drugged I feel fine. My doctor said that she expected it to look normal before she did the test. She said most everyone...
  4. Glad it went well! How long before you know the results? I go for mine tomorrow.
  5. It sounds like you were fully awake, is that right? Did you feel the scope at all? I am like you, I don't like even twilight sleep, but don't want to feel a tube roaming around in my belly or down my throat.
  6. Iron saturation is your ferritin level or your iron stores. Whey they are depleted, you become anemic. I would ask what the lab range is for that because 52 may still not be enough for you. My labs ranges are like from 20 to 150 I think. My doctor put me on an iron supplement and I am now up to 44. I have read that the optipmal level is 70-90.
  7. I'm having mine done next week and feel the same way! I told my husband he would have to go with me and hold my hand. I had a colonoscopy done several years ago and remember it. But I don't want so much medication that I have a hard time waking up either.
  8. I only had three (don't remember which ones). I know my IgA was a little low and the other two were negative. Should I ask for more tests?
  9. Probably about four years ago I was having some pelvic discomfort and IBS symptoms and went on a pure fruit and veggie diet for two weeks before my colonoscopy. I had lots of energy and felt great. When the colonoscopy came back fine, I went back to eating meat, dairy and grains too. I don't know if it was the dairy or the grains. I really want to make...
  10. Wow, 9 weeks?! I guess I shouldn't complain. I hope you guys get answers soon! Too bad the doc I am seeing in Chattanooga, TN can't do it in days. I am thinking about looking around at different doctors. Good advice, thanks!
  11. It was inconclusive because my IgA was below normal which evidentally can cause false negatives. I have been struggling to get through the day because of fatigue and brain fog. I have hypothyroidism and low ferritin. I have had numerous gastro symptoms since an infant when I was put through many tests and found to have an enzyme deficiency. I have had...
  12. I expected it to be scheduled sooner. I am tired of the wondering and feeling bad. If this is Celiac, I want off gluten as soon as possible!
  13. I am 33. I had a colonoscopy about 4 years ago that came back clear. The GI doc I saw today said they might want to do another one to take biopsies from the colonoscopy too. I just want to find out if I have Celiac so I don't see why it would be necessary to do that and the endoscopy.
  14. My grandfather was Irish and my grandmother was Scottish.
  15. Thanks, I guess I should clarify the testing is being done on me. I thought that if I tested positive then the liklihood of his symptoms being Celiac would be be greater. My blood work showed low IgA and ferritin so they want to do more testing. What are the 5 labs?
  16. Eczema, attention problems, and mood swings. I currently have an appointment with a doctor for suspected celiac and have been researching it. I suspect that he might have this and was wondering how to tell for sure. Should I wait to see what my biopsy results are and go from there? Or should I take him to his pediatritian and let them do blood work or...
  17. I heard that it heals the villi, but I am not taking it for that. I was just wondering if I should take it before the biopsy if it really does heal, then wouldn't that give a false negative?
  18. My doctor wants to do a biopsy. I have low ferritin and am hypothyroid. When I was young I had multiple test done for painful diarreah. The doctors at first thought I had cystic fibrosis and then said it was a lipase defeciancy. My lipase is fine now. I don't have as many episodes of painful diarreah, but every now and then I do. It is bad enough that...
