  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. I just recently got life insurance. I am 25 and was diagnosed with celiac over 2 years ago. The underwriters said I was low risk and my life insurance is 10 dollars less a month than my husbands is. Not all life insurances will give you a hard time about it, I'm sure some will- you probably just have to look aroud a bit. I got my life insurance from RiverSource...
  3. Doctors can be a pain, I think most of them lack common sense. Im a vet tech and we always try to do the most non invasive diagnostics first (because it makes the most sense and keeps the price down). I am also getting my masters in physiology so I have a fairly good background in medicine. Thats the part about doctors I hate, I just want someone to use...
  4. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will have to look into the L-glutamine and the probiotics. That actually may help alot, I will also try to get tested for other food allergies. It sucks that everyone seems to have the same problems with the Big D, but it makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one. I have been looking at all my food very closely...
  5. Hi everyone. I am worried because I have been gluten free for 6 months now. I had horrible diarrhea 3-5 times a day before being diagnosed. I went gluten free and I sometimes didnt have diarrhea and was only going once to twice a day. I have noticed that the past month or so, I have been having the Big D just about everytime I go. The frequency has not...
  6. Thanks for the replies, it makes me feel a little better that other people have the same kinds of symptoms. Im going to start keeping a very close eye on what i eat and what causes cramps. I hope its not the casien thing, i love dairy. i will look into that more too. thanks again everyone. Ash
  7. i had blood work done and it comfirmed celiac disease. The endoscopy/colonoscopy is to determine the extent of damage and or if there are polyps. the popsicle is gluten free, i already called the company. maybe your right, i am just trying to eat too much right now. its just odd because this cramping started about a week ago. i ate a plain turkey burger...
  8. I have been gluten free for a couple of months now, i have checked all my medications, called food companies, and been really careful about eating anything anywhere i go. for some reason after almost every time i eat, i get stomach cramps for the next couple hours. i just ate a popsicle and am having cramps now!!! this never happened before going gluten...
  9. I have had severe problems with anxiety and depression. i was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. i was put on zoloft which helped a bit, but i seemed to have bi-weekly cycles of anxiety attacks even on meds. it got so bad that i thought i was going to absolutly lose my mind and almost broke up with...
  10. I havent heard anything about texas steakhouse. theres one near me but i havent looked into it yet. ive heard its really good there though.
  11. Im not sure why your having D. Ive been off gluten for 3 weeks and i was doing okay for a while and then started getting D again. It is super annoying isnt it!! I cant seem to find anything that is hidding gluten. im on zoloft and yasmin, but i found a website that said they were both safe, (are they??). i had to stop taking my iron supplement and am...
  12. Thanks for the advice, I feel a bit better now. I think I am going to cut dairy from my diet for a few days and see what happens. Im also going to look for hidden gluten. Did anyone try those lactose pills?? I was wondering if they worked and if I should bother trying them.
  13. I have been recently diagnosed with celiac disease about 3 weeks ago. I have tried really hard to maintain a gluten free diet. I was just wondering how long it takes to start seeing improvements with your GI symptoms (diarrhea, etc.) I seemed to get better for a week or so, and then would start having problems again, not all the time but enough to be annoying...
  14. thanks for all the info. it helps to have some ideas so of where to eat because i was starting to feel like i wouldnt be able to eat out again!! next time my family goes out we will visit one of the places you've recommended.
  15. i have just been diagnosed with celiac disease and have also lost over 20lbs from my already fairly thin frame. I looked on genisoys web site and they sent me a list of all the protein bars and shakes that are gluten free. there may be some that are dairy free. soy protein is always good. or eat a ton of beans and chicken. either way, the protein will...
  16. I just got diagnosed with celiac disease and I was wondering what major restaurant chains had gluten free menus. I know that outback steakhouse does, but are there any others?? Can you eat thai food if you have celiac disease (especially red curry)??? Any information would be appreciated.
