  1. It is. Thank you. I guess I'll stay away from natural flavors? Or is it only when it says "other" natural flavors and doesn't list them? I figured they were okay because they're natural, and wheat/gluten doesn't seem like a flavor.
  2. I had Nutella last night on gluten-free bread and got sick once it reached my intestines (sharp pains, diarreah), and woke up with aches under my ribs, and around that general area. ? I've had the bread plenty of times and it doesn't get me sick. Maybe I had too much Nutella? I had 3 pieces of gluten-free bread with it total in the whole day. Is it possible...
  3. Ursula and CarlaB-Thank you for the info. I had the blood test and that tested positive for gluten INTOLERANCE, so I've never been tested or diagnosed with the disease. If it's going to be trouble to get the biopsy and I have to eat gluten, I'm not doing it. And if that's true about getting back the difference of the cost of food, I'm not doing it for that...
  4. I know that Starbucks says certain things are gluten free, but I went in today to get a vanilla latte (one they claim is gluten free) and the worker let me read the ingredients for the syrup. Caramel coloring. I thought it was okay, but I looked closer and read that the syrup was made in Canada. Canada can legally label products as gluten free as long as...
  5. Just wondering if anyone here struggles with celiac disease/intolerance and an eating disorder. For me, EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified). I have binging/purging and restricting tendencies. Sometimes it feels like having the gluten intolerance (haven't been diagnosed yet) makes it easier to eat less. Finding out I was gluten intolerant...
  6. Question #1: I looked up Adrenal Fatigue. Can you get tested for it? I didn't see anything about that. Question #2, and 3, and 4...: I had a food allergy panel and celiac panel done earlier this week. They took blood, so I'm guessing it was all blood tests. I really hope I don't have anymore food allergies!! Anyway, I'm really confused about the testing...
  7. Label says: People's Choice Natural Vitamins Daily Multiple with Iron Ingredients: (besides the vitamins) Dicalcium Phosphate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Paba, Hydroxyproyl Methylcellulose, Polyethylene Glycol, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Yellow #6, and Titanium Dioxide. It says it has no ADDED: sugar, yeast...
  8. I thought I read somewhere that all are safe except yeast extract...I can't find where I read that. Anyone have info on the subject?
  9. Coco/fruity pebbles and coco puffs have malt flavorings in them. So they're not gluten free.
  10. I had a 20 oz. bottle of Minute Maid Lemonade today. I feel kind of gaggy...Not really sick, just like my throat is saying "throw up"..hah. Ingredients (iffy ones): natural flavors glycerol ester of wood rosin Is high fructose corn syrup safe? I know it says corn syrup, but is there anything hidden?
  11. So it's gluten-free? How many calories?
  12. A friend of mine made breakfast and everything as far as I knew was gluten-free. I even checked the sausage online and it had no iffy ingredients. I got sick. Could it have been the olive oil? Are there hidden ingredients in it??
  13. I've read plenty of times that the only non-gluten-free drinks at Starbucks are: "Any frappachino with "chips" (Java Chip and Double Chocolate Chip) Vanilla Bean Cream All other beverages are gluten free (as long as they don't have any of the "chips"). " BUT...how do we know they don't look for the not so obvious things? Like malt, barley, flavorings...
  14. Does anyone know if Tylenol PM or Tylendol PM Vanilla has gluten in it? I couldn't find anything about it.
  15. What is prolamine and is it bad for celiacs?
  16. I know I'm gluten intolerant. I had a blood test a year ago. I wanted to get tested for other food allergies, but what do I tell my doctor? Do they give me blood tests? Sometimes I eat a grilled cheese sandwich and fill sick. Not really sick, but I feel uncomfortable. As far as I know, the cheese only has milk, which sometimes bothers me if I eat a lot of...
  17. What is enterolab????
  18. =( that means I could only have fruits, veggies, and meat w/o any bbq sauce (i can't have bbq sauce anyway though)...I'd be super limited. I'll try it and see how i feel.
  19. Maybe I should have read the post under this one first. Pretty much got my answer there.
  20. ok thanks. I really hope I'm not allergic to casein. I'd be more limited and eating would be twice as hard. =(
  21. How is it possible that some people gain weight while on their gluten-free diet? Your food options are limited on the diet...
  22. I'm pretty sure it was this site where I found the forbidden list. It said: 1) If this ingredient is made in North America it is likely to be gluten-free. 2) The problem with caramel color is it may or may not contain gluten depending on how it is manufactured. In the USA caramel color must conform with the FDA standard of identity from 21CFR CH.1. This...
  23. If you're intolerant to casein, what do you look for on lables to know if casein is in the food? I've never seen casein, so is it hidden or under another name?
  24. F***!! I figured that when the LUNA bars said wheat free, it meant gluten free, too!! Well I learned my lesson. Next time I'll make sure it says GLUTEN FREE. I didn't get sick from it, but I did start feeling panic attacks coming on and I've been getting light headed when I stand up. I had THREE in the past two days...bad me.
  25. Tomato paste or powder, usually contains wheat which is probably in the tomato sauce.
