Infertility and Celiac Disease

Courtney Colley

I am looking for sources or studies that help connect the link with celiac disease and infertility. I am looking to overturn a decision my doctor told me. Who can help? Where can I go? It is really frustrating to be told that I will never have kids and that is all I have ever really wanted. I have tried to go back on birth control and after three months I am still not regulated. I am pretty frustrated and not sure what to do. Who can help?

My husband and I have been married for over a decade and never able to conceive, because my period stopped. Doctors said I had premature ovarian failure (POF) at age 28 and were unable to find a cause. I was diagnosed with celiac disease two years ago and have been gluten free since the diagnosis. Now I know the cause of my POF. We still want a baby, but I still cannot get a period. Any suggestions?

Try Maca, Ph balancing to become more alkaline, fermented cod liver oil mixed with high vitamin butter and edible montmorillionite clay to raise your fertility. Also taking a liquid vitamin supplement, eating fresh young coconuts and probiotics increases digestive absorbtion ability of your body thus heightening your nutritional intake.

I am a gastroenterologist specializing in celiac disease at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Celiac disease appears to have an association with a number of reproductive complications, including infertility and poor fetal outcomes. However, the recent studies have been inconsistent in finding an association. Jefferson Celiac Center aims to better clarify patients’ experiences with fertility and pregnancy outcomes. Our hopes are that this study will clarify inconsistencies in the current literature, increase physician knowledge of this issue and gain awareness for the celiac community.

I hate doctors! Four years of trying to figure out what is wrong with me, doctor after doctor telling me I'm fine, and I finally figured it out myself. Now age 35, I will never have kids. I have been trying, and now I know why I can't. I hate doctors and will never listen to them again.
