Any Ellicott City, MD Moms of children with Celiac's?

Hi,

My 9 year old son was just diagnosed with Celiac's Disease this past weekend. They found it looking for something else, and since he was asymptomatic the diagnosis blindsided us. I was wondering if there are any other Ellicott City, MD moms I could connect with. It's been pretty overwhelming and anxiety-producing so I was hoping I might connect with someone who has been down this road already.

Hi there, I'm not in Ellicott City but I do live in Maryland. My daughters were both diagnosed last April. My oldest is four and a half and was asymptomatic, my youngest is almost 3 and was very, very sick prior to diagnosis.  I'm in a Maryland ROCK (raising our celiac kids) support group that's pretty awesome. We meet up about every three months. I'd love to chat if you need anything. I know it's all overwhelming at first.

How can I find out more info on Rock in MD? My son was just diagnosed and I've been looking for local support. Thanks

I found it through a Facebook group. I could help if  you want to send me your name I could add you.

Sure I'd love to be added. Is there a way to send an email through this site?

I'm not sure, I'm new to this forum too. Search for ROCK'n Maryland on Facebook, that's the one I'm a member of. But it's a closed group so I don't know if you'll be able to find it.

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
