Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

Yeah, its like...is there life after lymes?

I know. Sometimes it's too much. I can only go on LN about maybe 2x a week. It's funny though because I can be on here all the time, without it bothering me. I guess the difference is that once someone gets dx'd with Celiac they usually get better.

Well we lymies get better too...its just a lot more complicated! Lets not lose hope.

Even though I have been at this over 7 years, still I am so much less in pain than I was pre-diagnosis.

Kassandra,

Here are a couple of links on adrenal fatigue.

www.drrind.com - he has a really neat chart on thyroid/adrenal symptoms.

www.tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html - excellent article by Dr Lam

www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info - has some home tests you can do to see if you have it

www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI%20Normal.html - really good info. don't click on any of the home links tho... can't get back to the adrenal stuff through there.

I tried to get in that chat tonight, but nobody was there. It's at 5 my time...right?
Well, technically. They really get going about 6:30 your time. Tonight I went in and just sat there .... did other things on my computer, because you can hear others come in, so you know when you're no longer alone. ;)

It's great when I am stuck in bed! That's usually the only time I go in. Otherwise I want to be away from all the illness! B)

For me, it's late, right before bed ... usually sometime between 9-11, so I'm not doing anything else anyway. :)

Well we lymies get better too...its just a lot more complicated! Lets not lose hope.
People tend to leave LN when they get better. You should go over and read "Bejoy's" post. She joined LN about the time I did .... we sorta went through treatment together .... she's as well as I am! People do get better, it's just that the people there are sick. That's why I try to pop in at least once per day, though it does get harder as I get better. Since my mornings are rough, that's the time I set aside to spend here and there.

Carla-

when you do epsom salt baths do you put in just epsom salts or do you do baking soda too?

I've done it both ways. Once I found out about baking soda, I started using it too.

I use two cups salts, one cup soda.

Have the baths given you any relief?

How are you today mia?

I've been thinking about you, I know the next couple days are going to be intense for you.

Hope it all goes well, and keep us posted.

For my baths I do epsom salts, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide.

Kass, that's why I don't go to lymenet. It's too much.

Julie,

How much hydrogen peroxide do you do?

Do the epsom salts help with detox. I have always wondered how this actually works. I didn't know if it was the fact of taking a hot bath and trying to sweat or if the epsom salts do some detoxing on their own.

I use baking soda too, although not sure what it does either

I am so mad at myself for spending so much money I DIDN't have on that doc! I know I gotta get over it and some of those things we tested DID need to be tested.....Does anyone else's LLMD charge by the *minute*? UGH!

I guess I feel like it was money wasted because I really didn't get anywhere.

Oh well, I should have my lyme tests back next week which was the original reason I went there.

I am going to focus on sauna, hopefully purchasing an infared sauna, exercising and detoxing some more this summer. I can go through the ND if I want to switch from HMD to DMSA or DMPS and she is much cheaper and much more caring.

I also went for a free consultation to a acupuncturist who also does the Gua Sha and Shonishin (for the kids). I should have saved my money and put it towards her......

Oh well...I am sure everyone has been in that boat. Its like a trial and error thing.

April,

Sounds like you have a good plan. The sauna will really pull the toxins out.

As for the detox. baths? This is my best guess as to what is going on...

Hot water opens the pores and vessels to draw toxins out of the body. As the water gently cools more of the toxins will pull out. The salts, Epsom, baking soda, potassium, will cause more sweating or pulling out due to natural diffusion. Epsom also pulls and combines with mercury with its sulfur containing compounds.

Take a shower afterwards to rinse off the salts and re-hydrate the body with a glass of water or lemon herb tea.

The hydrogen peroxide kills any bad bacteria or fungus in the water and on the skin.

I know that some forumulas use the clay for drawing out but it is expensive (it works too) and it can really clog the drains if you are not careful.

Well, not by the minute, but he ain't cheap, lol. He's cheaper than MOST LLMDs though so I can't really complain too much about that. If I saw one of the other more well known LLMDs in his office I'd be paying a WHOLE lot more.

And, fortunately my insurance covers 70% of most of his charges, so I eventually get reimbursed. Although...my insurance company still has a charge pending from NOVEMBER. Guess they're not going to pay that one, lol.

I use about 1/2 c- 1 c of peroxide, 1 1/2 c-2 c of epsom salts, and 1 c of baking soda.

Epsom salts:

"Another simple way to draw toxins out of the body is to take a hot epsom salt bath. Hot water draws toxins out of the body to the skin

April,

I've spent money on things that I wish I hadn't (in hindsight). We can only go with what we know at the time in our quest for better health.

Julie,

That doctor sounds totally annoying! I've never heard of such a thing!

Thanks Moldlady! Glad to see you popping in over here :) I had looked at those clay baths and was considering trying it, once I recoup some money....

Thanks Julie, too! Those two explanations definately help me understand it better. I will do them more often. I can easily get my kids in those kind of baths, too.

Ohh...I'd want to throw that clock out the window, too! UGH!

I was reading up on those bentonite clay detox baths, while extremely helpful and beneficial with detox they are saying they aren't a good idea for home use.

The clay could cause thousands of dollars worth of damage in your plumbing/drainage systems as it will clog and seal things up.

So just research it well and proceed with caution.

Hi April,

I'm here more often now because i'm using a different browser and it is so much faster. Thanks so much for inviting me over and the nice welcome.

I spent tons of money on docs from 1983 to 1990 and three minor surgical procedures before I decided to start researching on my own. The material/truth is out there but it is buried deep.

Sorry you had such a bad/$ experience with that. I"ve been there too and it is very frustrating when you work so hard for every penny and then it seems it goes up in smoke in one visit.

ML :)

Hi Julie,

I've known several people that have taken the clay baths and they say that they work but they are very expensive. That's why I decided to do the cheap detox. thing. :)

I also add potassium salt to mine because I read that on the label for the clay baths. :)

Kassandra,

Here are a couple of links on adrenal fatigue.

Thanks! I will look at some of those later.

Yea, the chat gets going strong around my dinner time. ;)

I like LN, but some of the posters are just a little over the top. I think a lot of them are really depressed too, and that sucks. It's no fun to be in that kind of place. I get it, the less energy you have, the less you do things, the more you get depressed, it sucks!

I don't know if I ever was on before Lou left, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it still can get really "bickery."

Hi Mold Lady,

Glad to hear you are having an easier, and faster, time of it navigating around this forum :)

I am with you, why not go with the simpler cheaper ingredients for the bath and not even risk clogging the drains

I do think though the clay bath sounds interesting, maybe go to a spa or something for that.

Thanks for the tip about the patassium salt.

April, I forgot to mention about your plan, it sounds really good.

I am slowly trying to get a routine going, I have been successful with starting up some things and then I forget about some of the other things (like skin brushing for example).

I think once I get everything in order and the repetition of it all, everything will fall in line.

I am skin brushing twice a day, once in the am and once before bed, detox baths as many as I can get in a week, castor oil packs 5 days a week, and then the sauna.

I consider my exercise program to be as much as a part of the healing protocol as anything else, some cardio to get heart rate up and to break a sweta, walking out in the fresh air for sun exposure and to get the oxygen flowing, strength training, and yoga for strength, stretching, and flexibility.

Here's some cool info I found on skin brushing:

"Daily skin brushing accelerates recovery time greatly. You can skin brush anywhere from your bath tub to while at work or drive to and from work. The general guideline to follow is that if skin brushing begins to feel uncomfortable or irritates the involved area discontinue skin brushing until it no longer irritates or feels uncomfortable.

Always remember to include crossover and over-flow stimulation in your skin brushing rehab program.

Skin brushing is generally used over the entire body to stimulate the body

well, i finally got in touch with a BioSET practitioner!

she knew about detoxing problems thank god, she said lots of people have had came in and had issues with it...she said some people have had it so bad that they've done some type of laser thing to help it? maybe donna or rachel or somebody would know about that

seemed like she understood everything on the phone, understood about lyme, heavy metals ect. were....i mean it's true, if you have a lot of issues going on and detox issues, you can't treat any until your body isn't extremely sensitive and has some strength...she said exactly what i said, it would put you in the hospital when you're already so sick...maybe that's why people who have lyme have so many issues, they run to antibiotics immediately and things get horrible....obviously when your body is that shook up, slow and steady is the key...rachel said it perfect i think, i think in one of her posts she said her doctor focused on not having big herx/reaction issues...well obviously when things are dying off your body won't be feeling too swell, but it doesn't need to be severe...it's like smoking lol, if you only smoked a little here and there, stopping would be no issue, but if you go right into it after a pack a day and just stop out of nowhere, of course you're going to have major issues with that, jerking the body around is the least thing you need when trying to go nowhere but up

she said if you have detox issues, she goes very slow and sensitive and she focuses on helping the immune as well, which is great i'm sure...she knew what ART was too, everybody else i've talked to have had no clue!

anyways, if it can desensitize me to most things and help these detox issues, that's a big burden off right there....it can find out issues too it seems so hey, good start, maybe she'll know of somebody that does ART

Yay RPM....sounds promising!!!!

Everyone,

I am having some sort of flare in symptoms today...not sure why exactly, but my skin feels like I have a really bad sunburn all over. Clothing touching my skin is painful. No redness or rash or any marking, just a feeling like a bad sunburn. Haven't had it this bad in a few months (except for a really mild instance a few weeks ago).

Has anyone taken bentonite clay? I am taking it but I don't know.

Oh Jin I was going to tell you that you can see the article in Parade. I think it's Parade.com
