Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Recommended Posts

What are castor oil packs and what do they do.

Paula, it's a pack you apple to the skin, no drinking or taking anything internally involved

The healing benefits of castor oil packs are many, lymph drainage towards the top of the list.

well, i finally got in touch with a BioSET practitioner!

Good news rpm, hopefully the Bioset practitioner can shed some light on your symptoms and issues.

Yay RPM....sounds promising!!!!

Everyone,

I am having some sort of flare in symptoms today...

Oh Donna, I'm so sorry :(

I would get this from time to time, not sure what was going on, but it seemed to go away and not last long when it did happen.

Can you take a detox bath when you get home?

Hi Lisa, cute picture.

I'm not taking bentonite clay but Ive read about it over the years and was tempted to try it. I think it just pulls out toxins basically.

Hey Lisa...nice to "see" you, lol.

Have you done anything different? Do you think there is a timeline connection......like every month, every 2 months....that type of thing.

Can't think of anything I've done differently...I guess I need a better system of journaling this stuff. Maybe I'll need to get a really big calendar, lol. I try to journal everyday, but the space isn't very big on my page, lol.

Can you take a detox bath when you get home?

Thanks, nope, won't have time today...I have a hair appointment after work, then have to rush home and eat really quickly, then go out for choir practice. If we can get out of choir early, I might be able to take a quick 10 minute one maybe.

Julie,

I get slack too on certain aspects like dry skin brushing for instance. And the funny thing is....I have been waking up itchy in the middle of the night. So, I'll start that back up!

Do you do the castor oil pack on your liver? That is where my ND suggested.

I need to do that too!

Moldlady,

I have been unable to find the potassium for some reason. I looked all over a while back.

They sell a salt type cleaner that helps dissolve the clay, but I'm with you.....cheaper and easier is better. I am sure I would have to wash the tub after each use. The epsom salt bath is so easy.

I thought maybe the clay baths did an extra good job.

When we went to Costa Rica last year, we rode horses out to this special stream, river in the woods. Then we rubbed this mineral clay/dirt all over us and let it dry. Then afterwards, we rinsed it off. I felt so rejuvenated! The people that did this trip were so nice and they said that the clay/dirt had lots of minerals in it.

That was the coolest experience! I should post that picture as my avatar! Me covered in mud from head to toe.. HAHA!

I talked with my friend here who has Lyme today because she had her appt. with Dr. H last week. Guess what he suggested to her? Coffee enemas!!! LOL

He told her he couldn't recommend them, put them on her chart, etc., BUT that he had patients who were really having good results with them!

She cracked up and said that she had a friend who swears by them, LOL. So, I told her all about doing them today, and about drinking the whey protein to be sure your body has what's necessary to produce the glutathione to begin with.

thank you julie, maybe i will try them one day, after my experience with castor oil im afraid just looking at it will make me run to the bathroom lol. I did look them up on the net tho and it sounds like they work for lots of different things, so maybe i will bite the bullet and try them. Have to buy an water bottle first tho.

Carla,

Did you ever have emotional herxes? I think I get depressed around my herx cycles (which, thanks to you, I figured out, lol). I was thinking about going on AD's, but if it's only 3-4 days a month, I can ride it out.

Donna,

You may want to try lymelog. It's online and it's great! I try to go on every day and log my symptoms. It graphs things for you too! I want to print out my graph and bring it to my LLMD appt. It may be interesting for them to see. Just a thought.

Julie,

I have started skin brushing agian. It also does wonders for cellulite!  :P A lady at a spa once told me that was the best way to get rid of cellulite, not expensive treatments. It really does work too!

Everyone,

I am going to go either tonight or tomorrow to sign back up for the gym! YAY!!! :P:D I am very excited! I think it will be good just to make me get out of the house every day (well if I can) and hopefully get a routine going.

Also, we got a letter from Kaiser saying that they won't cover me! YAY!! Now, we can get that MRMIP and I will have WAY better coverage! I am so happy! :D

Kassandra, YES!!! Emotional herxes were horrible. The first sign I would be coming into my physical herx was when everything would bother me, everyone would hate me, and I would start crying. Totally not my normal disposition. HORRIBLE!

I really think the gym played a big role in my regaining my health ..... sometimes I would go and lift light weights for about ten minutes and go back home .... I think even that was better than just lying in bed all day. At that point, just walking from the house to the car, the car to the gym, etc. was a workout! LOL

I just realized something today .... and it's a big DUH moment .... you know how my hardest thing is waking up in the morning, gee, do you think that taking Ambien in the middle of the night might have something to do with it???? Duh.

I started doing that because sleep was more important than getting up in the morning ... I'm going to try supplementing 5HTP and Melatonin again and wean off the Ambien ... at least the middle of the night dose, LOL.

Kassandra,

Yay on the gym and better health coverage! :D

Carla,

Let us know how it turns out. It does sound plausible that the middle night ambien could be causing your morning drowsiness.

LOL! That's funny about the ambien! I would be a zombie if I took as much as you take! I only take a quarter of the 5 mg!!!! LOL! And if I get up in the middle of the night, I am almost drunk...I'm a light weight! LOL!

That's not the issue for me though. I only take 1.25 mg at about 9-10 pm and then go to sleep. Even when I never had sleep issues I still was not a morning person!

About the emotional herxes...ugh. I actually don't cry a lot at all, but did today. Now I feel way better, lol. I guess there is also a lot going on in my life, I always forget. ;) And, I feel a little bit crazy when I herx, I get angry at everyone...for NO reason! LOL! Things from like 10 years ago totally bother me. Like, I'll dwell on it for 3 days, then my herx is over and I feel so stupid!

At least now I can recognize the pattern...hopefully working out will help me get out of the house on days I don't want to leave or do anything. They have a jacuzzi and pool, so even if I don't want to do anything really physical, I can just get out of the house and lounge in the pool. :) Yay, I'm so excited!

How on earth do you break a 5 mg pill into quarters? LOL

My son asked me once, "Mom, how come sometimes I do something big, and you hardly get mad at all, then others I do the smallest thing and you get SO MAD?" I told him about herxes ..... he's 17.

LOL! That's very funny about your son!

Re: the ambien, I just cut it in half, but not all the way. Then I turn it the other way and cut in half again! I use a pill cutter. Not enough coordination to do it otherwise! LOL!

Carla I think what you say is true that you don't see the people who get well online. I wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for finding the celiac connection...and I am so grateful because I think I am learning things that may help me finally get farther in my healing journey.

Emotionally, I am usually pretty good, the bad times for me are when I have days of symptoms. Because I now have some very good periods, when the symptoms come and stay I really get discouraged. I get irritable, lose motivation and just start to give up and veg.

Sorry April,

I saw your question a few pages back and I totally missed it somehow.

You asked where I buy the potassium salt that I use in my detox bath. I only use 1/4 c. because it is more expensive than the rest. I decided to find and use it because I saw it on the ingredient list of the clay detoxes.

In the salt section of walmart it is with the alternatives to regular salt.

I hope this helps.

ML :)

Hi everyone. :)

Donna, love your new pic. :)

Sorry you're not feeling great right now...stupid sunburn feeling!

I totally know how that feels...it still happens to me once in awhile but not so bad that my clothes are bothering me. I hope it passes soon!

Lisa,

Great to see you posting more often. Keep it up with the positive attitude! :P

I didnt get to see the Parade but I'll try to check it out online. I also gotta scroll back now so I can see your new pic..is it you...or is it your phone??

Mia,

I think it can be good to ease up on things when your body is obviously under alot of stress. I dont blame you for wanting to stop...I'm sure I would do the same. It doesnt do alot of good to kill off more than what you can handle....its alot of stress on your organs.

If it gets unbearable its probably not the best thing for your body. Even if you're killing off the bugs if you are putting your body under so much stress the immune system isnt likely going to be strong enough to help fight the infection.

You will definately feel discomfort going through treatment but I dont think it should be unbearable. If it is you are probably having alot of difficulty detoxing and those organs are really struggling with the load.

It seems like you're doing alot of different things but it might just be too much for your body to handle all at once. Chelation itself is alot of work for the body...abx and other things on top of it could really put your system over the top if you're not detoxing well.

I hope you feel better soon. You're always in my thoughts.

Julie,

Sorry you havent been feeling too good either. :(

I've been investigating more into the histamine scientificness and I have some theories about my issues....yeah...I think I might be on to something!

Anyways, I'll post about that later....still trying to catch up with my peeps. :P

I cant believe how difficult it is for me to keep up with everyone these days!

Rpm,

Great! I'm really excited to hear this! The BioSET practitioner sounds promising. I do believe that its important to take care of the whole body and cover all the bases before and during treatment.

I was very impatient in the beginning but I'm glad we went slowly...so far I havent experienced any setbacks or herxes but I dont have a heavy Lyme burden either. My Dr.'s are very cautious about aggressive treatments while the body is very toxic and especially when the patient is extremely sensitive....which usually means the liver is really burdened. Its been baby steps for me from the start.

I've noticed from all the time getting to know people in this thread that in the beginning we are all pretty much in the same boat. I think many of us have felt overwhelmed...not knowing where to start...its all very scary and confusing when you dont really have all the answers to your questions...and you dont have guidance.

BUT...what I've noticed is that once you find the right person(s) to help you figure it all out....alot of that fear dissipates. Its a really good feeling when you have someone treating you who really UNDERSTANDS everything you're dealing with. You will find that you will be less scared and you will feel better about your situation...knowing that it can be treated and that you're working toward that goal of regaining your health. :)

Hey like my new pic? I know I am bad at taking pictures. Either I chop peoples heads off or my finger gets in the way. Actually it's that I am just real shy.

LOL Lisa.... :lol::lol:

Ummm...yeah...and I thought I was shy. :P

Nice phone though!

I think we're having an ice storm .... I hope it turns to snow instead. :) The kids are hoping for no school tomorrow!

They added stevia to my whey protein. Stevia always has given me terrible stomach pain .... I tried it tonight anyway since I haven't tried it since I no longer have those parasites .... hopefully it will go well as it's the only one I've been able to find with no stevia. It will take a few days to know ... it didn't bother me the first time I had it usually .... stupid stevia.

Yay RPM on the practitioner.

I agree with you in general about not doing antibiotics if you are toxic. At the same time I want to comment that I think this is a very individual thing. In your case, I respect your decision to avoid abx. In my case, I am convinced that the antibiotics made the difference. At the time of diagnosis I was living on asperin for constant pain, 4 at a time, every 4 hours around the clock just to function. This had worsened year by year for at least 17 years.

I did get worse initially on the antibiotics. I had so much die-off that I was quite miserable. I took one abx for weeks that caused nausea--that was so hard to live with. After that I was toxic enough I had to take a couple weeks break and do some recovery stuff. Meanwhile I was doing lots of support stuff, herbal things, coffee enemas (recommended by my doctor along with a number of other detox methods) and antifungals to prevent candida overload. I did two courses of intermuscular abx, and one course of IV antibiotics which I gave to myself. Sometimes I was taking 2-3 different abx at the same time.

8 months after starting treatment I REALLY began to turn a corner and continued to improve for another year or more before stabilizing. Another year or two later, I had another leap forward after adding samento to my regimen.

All this to say that while we have to weigh the options and be cautious, with lyme there are times when we have to take the leap and do something that seems more risky like long term abx. In the best scenario we do all the treatment we need under a practitioner we trust.

Carla....I did think about the Starbucks vs. Big-Mac...so I decided I need to eat one ASAP. I gotta see if they are equal in their toxicness....you know....for the sake of scientificness. ;)

I'll report back with my findings. :D

HAHA....just kidding!! :P

I'm not gonna go there!! I'm being so good with my food choices...well maybe not 100%...but still. :P

I seriously think a Big-Mac would be ALOT more toxic for me. I'm thinking about the rancid grease on the burger...the bun (probably enriched bleached wheat flour)...the condiments (totally off limits for me). Heck...I'm pretty sure the pickle itself would do me in!

The Big-Mac just wouldnt be any good without all that crap I just mentioned!!

So yeah....I gotta wait until my tolerance for yummy toxic food goes WAY up.

I am having some sort of flare in symptoms today...not sure why exactly, but my skin feels like I have a really bad sunburn all over. Clothing touching my skin is painful. No redness or rash or any marking, just a feeling like a bad sunburn. Haven't had it this bad in a few months (except for a really mild instance a few weeks ago).

Donna, sorry to hear this and hope it is much better very soon.
