Just because it's gluten causing the diarrhea instead of a laxative, doesn't mean it's not bulimia. You don't want to go there. ;) You are probably at a healthier weight. I USED to have to watch my weight ... I'm sure when I'm healthy I will again.

My biggest problem now is everything I eat makes me sick. Drinking doesn't, so a latte every day is a good source of calories. With it making me sick, I have little appetite.

Drive by- Been trying to "take care of business"- weeding, paying bills, gardening. Trying to keep my mind occupied. All of a sudden I am NERVOUS about my appointment tomorrow. :blink:

Also, speaking of anger and bitterness- I am ANGRY. had two trips booked this winter (DC and San francisco) that I had to cancel due to 'stomach flu". had trip insurance on both luckily. Unfortunately now both United and travelocity are claiming I didn't cancel- I have the stupid travelocity cancellation in writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: Spent four hours on the phone yesterday until I ended up screaming at someone then realized I had to let it go for awhile.

Wwill not give up the fight! But the warrior must rest for now. Feeling pretty drained.

Looking forward to hearing about all the appts today though.

That one is one of my favorites that I've seen. :D

I am rather famous for those, it's the magnolia (I've done several renditions), quite large and took more than 100 hours, and SO heinous that I"ll never do another one. glad you like it. ;) (oh, also slightly plagiarized from Ehret's illustration from the 1800's :ph34r: ) It's just to show you guys that I don't just paint hallucinogenic Fauve trees. :P

This is sad but true. The more weight I lose, the more male attention I seem to draw. Seems like they'd like a little more meat on the bones ... especially since the chest seems to just get flatter and flatter as you lose weight. <_<

Keep on travelocity to start since you have the cancelation in writing. After you rest though and preferably not til after your appointment.

I can understand the nervousness and fear of the unknown with what treatment is going to entail. We are here for you......call/email or pm if you need to.

It is very sad, yes. The ones who prefer emaciated women aren't worth it though. Their interest is more in how you look that who you are.......IMO anyway.

Amen- If one more person tells me how great I look, I'm gonna punch em (not you guys :P ). I keep telling everyone skinny bev= sick bev and curvy bev=healthy bev. :P

If there interest is limited to how you look, I would agree, but for many men, that's just the first attraction, then they get to know the woman beneath the looks ... if there's no substance, a man who has substance will move on.

Adam tells me sexy is an attitude ... Queen Latifah is living proof that he's right. So, Susan, it's all in the attitude.

I look at actresses now who are as skinny as me or skinnier and I just don't see the appeal. I saw Pirates of the Caribbean last weekend ... I didn't think Keira Knightly looked too thin ... that's scary because my frame of reference is me ... <_< When I'm heavier, I think she looks too thin. LOL

:ph34r:at the first opportunity, I am going to get me some fake boobs. NOT oversized, though. ;)

Because, when I was super skinny, the boobs were proportianate.....now, the new belly necessitates the boobs. ;) All will be fine, then. :)

I believe since I have an active intolerance to gluten that I would have wound up sick, but since I cut it out early I don't have any experience in that area. Since I have a celiac gene I consider myself celiac as well as the rest of us.

I still think metals are a problem but (outwardly anyway) not as much of one as the rest of those on this thread that have problems with metals. I have been more down this year, don't know that I can blame that on the metals though. Mitch thinks both Talitha and I have the psychological manifestations, primarily, with other manifestations playing a part as well (just that being the main one).

I think I got more attention BEFORE I lost weight.

I'm not even sure it has anything to do with weight though...

I think when I was healthy I just was alot more happy....more extroverted, full of life, laughing alot, etc. Now I dont have that same energy....I probably dont laugh or smile nearly as much....even if I look exactly the same...I find people take more notice when a person is looking happy and smiling.

Thats what draws me to a person.....I notice a smile before anything else. If the person didnt smile...I may walk right past without ever noticing them.

Since I gained weight back...I'm not that far off from where I was before getting sick. The main difference is how I feel on the inside...and it does show on the outside when I'm feeling bad, tired and just not having that certain "glow" of happiness. People notice that.

I'll have to look for the posts and re-post them. I think one was from just earlier today (maybe 1 or 2 pages back) but I'm not able to go back to certain pages I've previously viewed. I'll try to look for it later.

If someone saw my post to Lisa about whey from earlier today can you repost it?? I cant go back to the last couple pages...I get "error" messages. :angry:

Oh Andrea- He's a piece of work. People either love him or hate him. He did Roger and Me about what happened in Michigan when the car industry tanked, Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 911. I like his work, but his persona is beginning to drive me nuts :rolleyes:

He's very outspoken but he brings A LOT of awareness to anything he researches so I'm glad his next movie is health care!

Too much of anything at once is gonna be a shock to your system....especially something that promotes detox. Too much will make you feel worse.

I started out with about 1/3 of a scoop and then worked my way up...I'm at one scoop now. I havent had any problems with it at all....and I actually like the taste of it. Another good thing to take is minerals....multi-minerals.

The one I take is free of everything except the minerals....no vitamins....no other "extra stuff".

This is the one my Dr. sent to me...

The reason she has me on this is to build up the minerals in my body because they are usually depleted during chelation. You need adequate amounts of minerals during the detox period and to replace what might get lost during chelation.

Seems like the minerals and amino acids in the whey go a long way in protecting our bodies from toxic metals. When we get better...its probably a good idea to keep taking this stuff for the added protection....too much of some minerals can be bad too but not enough definately leaves room for mercury to settle in.

After you get all your amalgams out you will probably want to be tested for vit/mineral deficiencies.

Lisa...basically with the chlorella you should just go slow with it and see how well you tolerate it. If you can tolerate it...you can slowly increase the amount you're taking. Dont just start out taking alot of anything all at once. Ease yourself into it.

You had asked about cilantro drops and I said to not do these unless you are also taking chlorella...because cilantro by itself does not remove mercury from the body....it just moves it around.

I suggested starting out with the drops on your wrists, ankles and kidney area. Take some chlorella....see how well you tolerate it...if its ok...then later on you can try taking some cilantro drops in your water or something. Not alot of drops....just maybe 1 or 2 drops.

Everything has to be done in baby steps.

      i used to get cold sores frequently before I went gluten free.  Then I only got them when stressed.  Then I cured my gut dysbiosis, and haven't had one in 20 years.

      To me, this bread is pretty special. The first time I tried adapting it I used a commercial gluten-free flour blend and it was good, but when I experimented using individual flours I tried the almond flour and it took it from good to special. I add walnuts or pecans to a lot of my desert bread recipes but I haven't tried nuts with this one. I would guess that adding either of them would result in the whole being less than the sum of the parts because the almond and other nut flavors would be competing. I wouldn't want to add almonds because of the texture. But you never know until you try. Have not tried cinnamon in this recipe. I imagine it would work. As I modified this recipe from the original, I reduced the sugar. The posted recipe is what I currently use. You are right that the pears bring a little sweetness to it.

      It's kind of funny that before my celiac diagnosis I did a lot more "functional eating" where I just needed a meal and wasn't so worried about how interesting/delicious it was, just needed to eat something. After my diagnosis I've become a dedicated cook and I am very tuned into flavor and novelty. In answer to your question, I find the recipe very forgiving for trying add-ins. I've supplemented the greens with green onions, bell pepper (any color), celery leaves and stalks, and fresh parsley. Sometimes I throw in pepitas (pumpkin seeds), craisins, walnuts and/or sunflower seeds. One thing I tried that didn't really work was currants. I think that maybe it's because they are too small and too sweet. I haven't experimented with cheeses beyond the 2 in the recipe. I would guess that grated hard cheeses would work, medium hard cheeses (like swiss or cheddar) might work, and soft cheeses would not.

      That actually sounds really nice. Pear bread feels like one of those things that would be soft and a little sweet without being too heavy. I like the idea of using fruit like that instead of just relying on sugar. It probably makes it feel more fresh and homemade. Have you tried adding anything like cinnamon or nuts to it, or do you keep it simple?

      That actually sounds really good, I wouldn’t have thought to mix sorghum with kale but it makes sense. The roasted cherry tomatoes probably bring a nice bit of sweetness to balance everything out. I’ve been trying to find more simple gluten-free meals that don’t feel boring, and this feels like something you could make ahead and just keep eating through the week. Did you add anything else to it, like nuts or cheese, or keep it pretty simple?
