Rash Just On Face? Could This Be Dh?

Hi to all,

I was diagnosed with celiac disease and have been gluten free since end of Feb 2004. Gastro symptoms under control, thank goodness.

Now a new problem: I have a rash on my face. I thought it started when I was mowing the lawn and brushed my cheek against a bush.... got a rash there. But since then I have had a bumb or two per day break out: large bumbs like mosquito bites that really itch. They take a few days to shrink and not itch, but still are visible of long after. I have never had a problem with acne and have lupus and it's not the charactaristic lupus-rash either!

I guess my question is: could this be DH? I thought DH was all over and small-ish bumps.

I have an appmt with a dermatologist in a few weeks...

Thanks,

Pam

Pam, My DH looked like little blisters that would raise up and them break and form a crusty scab. If the scab was over a joint it would break open and weep constantly. It was extremely itchy and sometimes painful. It took me 2 and 1/2 years to clear most of it up after becoming gluten free. Shirley

Could it be poison ivy or poison oak or something like that???

There is a photo of DH on:

Scroll down to figure 8.

There are also photos of additional types of skin disorders associated with celiac disease. Good luck!

Many years ago yes, after eating and going to bed, apparently my esophagus filled with food that my body rejected, the esophagus would lay against the Heart sack (pericardium?) and the heart would respond by becoming arrhythmic. That went away with the strict diet.

I was commenting on the report saying it did not mention migraines! Yes it does last paragraph says have not seen any evidence that Celiac cause migraines! I thought this was about truth?

It has been known for some years that celiacs suffer from migraines at a higher rate than the general populatation. It is an established symptom.

I suffer so bad with migraines when I eat gluten! Yes diagnosed celiac disease n 2015 and it took me years to discover gluten was behind me having severe migraines.  So yes it happens there has to be others like me!

If black seed oil is working for his Afib, stick to it, but if not, I can say that ablation therapy is no big deal--my mother was out of the procedure in about 1 hour and went home that evening, and had zero negative effects from the treatment. PS - I would recommend that your husband get an Apple watch to monitor his Afib--there is an app and it will take readings 24/7 and give reports on how much of the time he's in it. Actual data like this should be what should guide his treatment.
