Now Do I Qualify For Ssi Benefits?

Now in my late 40's and not having worked the amount of credits needed for SSD and suffering for over 30 years with Hypothyroid, Sjogrens Syndrome, Low Adrenal Function, Degenative Back Arthritis, Ovarian Cyst, Fibrostic Cyst Disease, TMJ, Fibromyalgia, Phlebitis, Nerve Damage and Celiac disease, which I thought for years was Irrital Bowel Syndrome, Colitis, Food Allergies, Lactose intollerance and Arthritis many doctors and test later. Can anyone out there know if I would qualify for SSI benefits with any of the above health problems? and how do you give a date your illness like Celiac disease first bothered you? and when you became unable to work because of the conditions?

Hi Minnie:

I am not sure if you can collect disability for Celiac Disease but the possibly for some of the other things you listed such as Sjogrens, Fibromyalgia & Degenative Back Arthritis. Here is a website I found on another site, it may answer some of your questions.

I have applied for SS and am currently awaiting a reply. I have 3 conditions: Celiac, Colitis, and POTS (an abnormality with my heart rythm.) I feel the best chance of getting SS is because of the Colitis. It can be disabling and can life threatening. Of course, so can Celiac, but that is most often under control for people. I haven't worked in about a year and 9 months, mostly due to the fact that these 3 diseases make it difficult for me to stand and walk for long periods of time, and have caused terrible low back pain. I also have dizziness and other symptoms. However, a list of symptoms as long as your arm won't mean a thing, if you don't have an official doctor diagnosis. If you have been officially doctor diagnosed with the things you listed above, I'd say your chances are fairly good. Good luck!

You may not be able to collect from the celiac disease, but maybe from your other ailments. All you can do is try. Good Luck, Judy

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

      We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
