Amanda, meant to say earlier how sorry I am . . . and I KNOW it will happen . . . and when it does, I KNOW that will be one lucky baby!!!

Judy, I know showing a house is a pain . . . but all this "action" is good, no??? . . . and yes, Em's Dad's lurvely mulberry tree is featured in her av.

while we're about it, is Sven Knickers' personal trainer or does he make her svoon, or bofe?

Sven is a code word for that distasteful word "excercise" <shudder>. Isn't it funny that Nik is the only one that talks about spending any time wif Sven?? What does that say about the rest of us? On a related note, Edna is code for "diet" <rolling eyes, fingers in ears, "LaLaLa I can't hear you"> We don't talk about her much either except to mention what a bi-otch she is.

And am just chortling away over our Oracle POeter's summation of the Royal Psilly Ascention Schedule.:lol: Methinks the Coronations have been much slower to happen the last few months.....but with new blood, we could be hitting some new records.... . ....

Jack got out of bed this morning, came into the office and said to me, "Mom, tablecloths were originally meant to be used as towels with which dinner guests could wipe their hands and faces after eating".

He walked toward the kitchen, then stopped, turned and added, "AND........In New York City, approximately 1,600 people are bitten by other humans every year".

Um, this sounds quite unconventional, rather snake-oilish and 'out there', howevah: bear with me, and try this, Patteigh and Yer Mahjestee Bun, as you have nothing to lost but yer phloo.... . . . . ...

Take the bottle of 3% hydrogen pyroxide outta your medicine cabinet. Put several drops-worth into an eye-dropper, lie down, and squirt a few drops into your ear canal. You'll likely hear all kinds of crackling and it will tickle, as the waxy crud is broken up by the stuff. Lie there for five minutes, then sit up, let the extra H2 02 come out of this ear, and repeat with the other one.

If I feel something phloo- or cold-ish coming on, I do this. It goes away. I can only remember one time when I had the phloo well-ensconced and was away from home, so did not get my hands on any H2 02 right away. I did put the stuff in me ears after a day or two, and was considerablly better by that evening.

Sumfin' about the amazing anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial properties found in hydrogen pyroxide. It is interesting reading......

uuuuhhhhhh, sounds completely ridiculous. But if it works, it works. Maybe the ear is one of the sites where infection starts and modern medicine has completely dismissed it.

Let us know if it works for you guys.

Hi, Ptaoughmghmnuss! :)

uuuuhhhhhh, sounds completely ridiculous.

I know, even fer my un-sciencey brain. It could always have been a coincidence with me -- perhaps the on-coming phloo was something small, simple and very fleeting -- dunno. Placebo? Next to impossible to buy. I'm never inclined to believe that anything is gonna work... . . . .... <_<

It may just be that since ears, nose, and throat are all connected, leaving it in your ear for a while allows it to leak through into your sinuses, helping to fight your infection. I use a saline nose rinse too, and was thinking about whether it would be safe to put some H2O2 in there.

Hi Ghtommn, good to see you!!! So if we want to see you more often, we need to be talkin' song lyrics?? Shel Silverstein is one of Skeeter's favourite authors but did nae know about "A Boy named Sue".

There is a 10 year old post in this forum on Edy's and Dreyer's ice cream. The information is somewhat outdated and the thread is closed to further comment, so here is a new one. Edy's And Dreyer's Grand Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 1.5 Quart is labeled "Gluten Free". This is a different answer than years gone by. I don't know the answer for any other flavor at this moment. On 1 May, 2026, Edy's website says: "As a general rule, the gluten in Edy's and Dreyer's® frozen dessert products is present only in the added bakery products, such as cookies, cake or brownies. We always label the eight major food allergens on our package by their common name. We recommend to always check the label for the most current information before purchasing and/or consuming a product. The exception to this rule is our Slow Churned French Silk frozen dairy dessert, which contains gluten in the natural flavors." https://www.icecream.com/us/en/brands/edys-and-dreyers/faq It seems that Edy's and Dreyer's are more celiac-friendly than they were 10 years ago. Once I found enough information to make today's buying decision, I stopped researching.

probably not your situation @Mimiof2, but allow me to add one more to @trents list of celiac-mimics: "olmesartan-induced sprue-like enteropathy"

My dad had an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  Fortunately, it was discovered during an exam.  The doctor could feel my dad's heart beating in his stomach/abdomen.  The aneurysm burst when the doctor first touched it in surgery.  Since he was already hooked up to the bypass machine, my dad survived ten more years.  Close call! Triple A's can press on the nerves in the spinal cord causing leg pain.  I'm wondering if bowing the head might have increased the pressure on an aneurysm and then the nerves.   https://gulfcoastsurgeons.com/understanding-abdominal-aortic-aneurysm-symptoms-and-causes/ Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Presenting as a Claudication https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4040638/

You have an odd story there. To me, the mechanical trigger suggests a mechanical problem and lower leg pain is a classic sciatica symptom. The fact that the clear mechanical linkage is no longer there does not take away from the fact that it was - maybe something shifted and the simple alignment is no longer there. There's also a good chance I am wrong and it's something else entirely. @Scott Adams's mention of shingles is interesting. It seems possible but unlikely to me, but who knows. However, I am writing here to reinforce the idea of getting the shingles vaccine. Ask anyone who has ever had shingles and they will bend your ear telling you how bad it is. I watched my wife go through it and it scared the bejeebers out of me. Even if you had the chicken pox vaccine, you really want to get the shingles vaccine.

Oddly this effect has gone now, just happened yesterday evening, the nerve pain is now back to its usual "unpredictable" random self again - but that was the only time I ever had some mechanical trigger for it, don't know why! There's no (or wasn't) actual pain in my neck - it was inside the leg, but when I looked down, now though, the leg pain just comes and goes randomly as before again.
