Nat'sMOM Newbie

Hi my name is Kristi. Mom of two. Jody is 4 and Natalie is 15 months. She was dx w/ celiac disease two weeks ago. We are slowly adjusting to the new diet and I am looking forward to chatting with everyone.

I have one question....She has been having some really nasty diapers....mostly durring the night....I assumed this could be her stomach adjusting to the new diet and possibable clensing it's self from being so sick....Am I on the right track or could this be unrelated. Thanks so much

You could be very correct. It usually takes at the very least, a couple weeks, before you'll notice some "better"diapers. Just try to stick with the new diet, which can be challenging. You will (as we all have) make some mistakes and give gluten to your child by mistake -- it happens to us all. Once Natalie is fully healed (could be a year), she'll better be able to tolerate those little goofs. Until then, you'll notice every one. Feel free to ask any questions. Kim, Atlanta, GA

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
