Pregnancy And Glutening

Hi! I have some questions and hope ppl can give advice! I just found out I'm pregnant- I got my biopsy in October so this is sooner than I would have hoped, but hopefully the fetus will stick and I'll have a healthy pregnancy. I had a m/c in September after being gluten-free since May which is about the same time period as I have with this pregnancy and gluten-free (I got the biopsy because of the m.c). But, I know I just got glutened and am wondering if anyone knows if sporadic glutenings (I will be very very careful- I think this is from cross contaminated tortilla chips) affect the chances of having a healthy full term baby?

Thanks.

Congratulations!

If you stick to the diet and just get glutened a few times, that should affect things. I'm 7 months now and I've been glutened 3 times since being pregnant. The baby is doing just fine.

So, as long as you don't cheat and are careful, it shouldn't be a problem. There are plenty of people who had normal pregnancies before they realized that they had celiac. I went gluten-free in January and got pregnant in July.

Good luck and congrats!

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
