Enterolab And Iga Deficiency

Happycat

Hi All,

I would like my son to be tested by enterolab but his blood tests revealed he is IgA deficient. Will the tests done at enterolab show results or will this be a problem? I tried to email them but they don't make it easy.

Thanks I appreciate any help,

Lisa

I just want to add my son is 19 years old and been suffering for almost 5 years.

Thanks

I suggest e-mailing Dr. Fine and asking him directly if this would affect the test results.

I don't recommend e-mailing the lab, they very rarely answer e-mails, but Dr. Fine usually gets back to you within a day or two. His e-mail can be found online, but you really have to look for it on his websites, so I'll tell you what it is:

Dr. Kenneth Fine kdxfine@yahoo.com

Have you tried the conventional testing yet? If you find a good doctor who is skilled at treating Celiac Disease, they should be able to handle the IgA deficiency when seeking a diagnosis. He would probably need an intestinal biopsy though.

I actually think the Enterolab tests are easier and better. My entire family tested either negative or inconclusive on almost all the conventional tests, and I opted out of the biopsy for my young children.

God bless,

Mariann

Hi Mariann,

My son had a biopsy 7/26 and it was negative so I thought we should give this a try. I will email Dr. Fine right now and hope for the best.

Thanks so much for your help,

Lisa

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
