Hey Did You Know Dr Fine Is A Musician?

I met Dr Fine this weekend as he was here near where I live doing a lecture on his research on gluten, which was very interesting I might add. He is an awesome guy and doc, I wish he could be our personal family doc/gi. Anyways he mentioned that he is also a musician. He showed us a demo video he has about nutrition for kids, it was so cute. I bought the music disc and dvd. Wow it is great, both my kids 4 and 12 love the songs and they are very helpful like the one in the video tells about how food travels through your body.

Anyways I just wanted to share this about Dr Fine. Since many of us here use his lab (www.enterolab.com) services.

      Celiac for dummies

      I was just diagnosed at 26 after accidental finding. Any simple tips for newbies? Things a non celiac would never think of? I already went through my prescriptions and identified some medications that have gluten. Is there a beginners guide? Celiac for dummies?

      Wow! Thank you @trents I really appreciate the responses. This line of diagnosis has me questioning a lot of symptoms over the course of my life. Very validating and very much a bummer at the same time.

      Yep, you've got celiac disease. That is a high score. In the U.K. you could have been diagnosed on the TTG-IGA score alone and not needed an endoscopy/biopsy. But I realize your physicians were not looking for celiac disease in the first place. But it also makes me wonder how much of your bowel issues are tied to celiac disease whose onset may actually have...

But I realize your physicians were not looking for celiac disease in the first place. But it also makes me wonder how much of your bowel issues are tied to celiac disease whose onset may actually have been years ago. Taking years to get a celiac diagnosis after onset is typical because the symptoms mimic so many other bowel diseases and many of us have "silent" celiac for years, meaning we have no or few symptoms until damage the small bowel lining becomes quite advanced and other symptoms, e.g. iron deficiency anemia, start showing up.
