Help With Blood Results?

My doctor said my results are positive, but I don't understand them, especially when I see others test results. Can someone help me understand what this means?

TTG Antibody, IGA <3 U/ml. <5

IGA, Serum 134 mg/dL 81-463

Gliadin Antibody (1G 17H U/mL <11

Comments:

Reference range:

<5 U/mL Negative

5-8 U/mL Equivocal

>8 U/mL Positive

This is the key at the bottom of my report, which if I read it correctly, I definitely have celiac.

Tissue Transglutaminase (TTG)-IgA positivity offer both high specificity for Celiac Disease.

For patients with early Celiac Disease with subtle histopathologic change (Marsch grade 1-11), Gliadim IgA is a sensitive marker.

For patients who are IgA deficient, additional serologic testing would be helpful. TTG-IgG and HLA testing may help establish a diagnosis.

I do see my gastro on the 18th and will definitely be asking more questions...he tried to do a biopsy, but wasn't able to get the endoscope through the opening at the bottom of my stomach, so he couldn't do it. I also have several symptoms and conditions common to celiac, such as anemia and autoimmune disorders.

Thanks in advance,

Sue

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
