Hola,

Does anyone know what this means? to test a high positive for IgG? and normal for IgA?

My doctor didn't really explain the results- just said my test was inconclusive and referred me to a specialist. Im having a biopsy soon. I had the test in january 2009- my symptoms started Nov. 17th 2008- now they are much worse and continuous.

igg and iga what?? igg and iga are just terms for different types of antibodies. as a rule of thumb, igg is the type of antibody that the body produces in the blood in response to an antigen. iga was originally discovered in the mucosa -- but, is also found (albeit at smaller concentrations) in the blood.

so... these antibodies are made in response to some antigen. the question is; which antigen?? in the case of celiac patients it could be gliadin (testing for direct immune response to gluten), edomysium (testing for damage to the intestinal tissue) or tissue transglutaminase (testing for damage to either the intestine, liver or other organs).

Thanks for responding!

hmmmm that sounds confusing. Do you think its likely that a very elevated igg level indicates celiac? or just an allergy of some sort? or nothing?

Thanks!

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
