  1. Can any one help, went to my doctor with hair loss, shakes, jiont pains, fatigue. She said she tested my thyroid and did CBC. I thought she did the whole thyroid panel but foound out today just did TSH. She said I am low in iron which I am unsucessfully being treated for and my thyoid was fine. I found today my TSH was 0.97 . T3 and T4 not done. Can...
  2. I did a few months ago but my doc did not tell me the number and unless it is outside of normal she wont treat it. I was low normal before. Can that cause anaemia? I also found out today my face powder had wheat in it.. soo not good
  3. I have been on a gluten-free diet for 6 years now. I recntly felt bad, aches pains, hair loss, sweating went to dr and I had low iron. She keeps threatening me with colonoscopy to rule out polyps but I think is could be due to my caeliac. I am not responding to the iron supplements, I had a feacal occult blood test which was negative. What blood tests do...
  4. I think you need a more informed doctor. If you are gluten free the results of the blood test will be negative and anyway the blood tests should not be used to exclude celiac disease. You may have another sensitivity or intolerance causing the problem. The other option for you may be the entero lab testing.
  5. I just got the results of my blood tests back for thyroid. MY doctor said at first they were normal but the tests were not very subtle and infact I was at the low end of normal. This explains why I am always colder than everyone else, am fatigued, have dry brittle hair and have problems loosing weight. BUT as it was normal she was not going to take any further...
  6. I wonder if anyone has any idea whats going on, I have been getting pasty looking, fatigued and recently when I stand up quickly I get dizzy. I am cold all the time but fatigue is my biggest thing. I am gluten free apart from the odd accident. I thought cold was due to thyroid, but now not sure. My blood pressure seems lower than it usualy is 105/70 usualy...
  7. Well I went to the second interview. They said my references were glowing and that they were just concerned about my style of communication. What a load of bull. Basically they are interviewing others this week and will tell me at the end of this week if I have the job. Thats after last interview tehm saying you are suitable for the job and agreeing a start...
  8. I was in a horrid job then Three weeks ago I was offered a new job to start on 28 Febrary. The interviewers said yes you have the job, we agreed a date. I told them I had to give 2 weeks notice to my current employer A week later I called to check everything was ok and they said they were doing the refences , then I get called in for a second interview. Tommorow...
  9. I got rid of the cooked breakfasts and cc. Then I eat trail mix now got the pain and look on the pack to see it is made in a plant which uses the same machinery for gluten foods. I then look at the trail mix I usually eat and see it is not safe either. I live on trail mix when I am working. The birds in my garden and squirrels are now very happy but I...
  10. No don't suck it up, what have you got to loose at the moment when you are feeling soo bad. Why not try a simple wholesome gluten-free diet for a couple of weeks and see if there is a difference. You possibly may be simply intolerant though many of your symptoms are suggestive of celiac. The blood tests are only screening tool and should not be used to...
  11. Thank you all for your responses, its good to know that I am not alone in this. I keep seperate stuff fro me in the fridge labeled, had not thought of my own cutting board ect. It made me realise other things too, had not thought about the cc opening the fridge and he is terrible with the tea towels. I am getting paranoid about my paranoia now. The key...
  12. How do you get it through to your husband to wash your hands after touching wheat bread before touching my bread. WE have seperate toasters and if we have pasta there are 2 pots and two forks. I can't afford to feed us all gluten-free. He leaved bread crumbs everywhere, drains gravy onto the drainer and leaves it. Help, I need a man transplant
  13. The nausea could be a psycological and physiological thing. You are still healing but not eating is a way of you taking control in a way. Try identify when you feel most nauseas and not nauseus and try and eat at your best times or try taking a safe brand of gravol half an hour before meals. Also my nutritionist told me its a good idea to eat at least...

  15. I thank you all for your suggestions, I have explained to my friend who is a nurse about Celiac but she just does not get it. I am thinking of sharing coffee and if i can bear it watching her eat or cooking breakfast for us. I think I just needed encouragement. I think I am still a little in denial, in my mind I still have this doubt that the doctors must...
