ARCHIVED Something Wrong With This Meal?

No dairy problems...can drink milk with no problem. The meat was just regular chop meat from Kroger's meat dept. -
ARCHIVED Not Really Understanding Some Things About This Diet...
Chrisser posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If going gluten-free is supposed to be so good for us, then how come I feel worse in some ways after going gluten-free? Granted, it's only been a few weeks, and I do feel better in some ways...but I'm so tired. I haven't gotten more than 3-5 hours of sleep a night in the last week and a half (wake up several times during the night needing to eat). I feel... -
Earlier this evening I had chop meat, rice, Amys organic salsa, Daisy sour cream, and gluten-free chips. Even after just a few bites I started feeling really full and a little sick, and Im bloated and feel like Im pregnant! I think I remember reading that some people have had problems with Amys products, but everything in this meal was gluten-free! Im...

ARCHIVED Medication Question
Chrisser replied to Chrisser's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the info. I've been meaning to contact the companies, but it just keeps slipping my mind. I've only been gluten-free for a few weeks, and my routines are completely off, including my medication routines...and I'm pretty sure I was glutened somehow yesterday. The only thing I can think of that I did differently was take all my meds, but I'm still... -
ARCHIVED Medication Question
Chrisser posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone take or have you taken Doryx or Valtrex? Do you know if they contain gluten? -
I'm trying to do the same, even down to making my own bread. But it seems like my body is just sucking up whatever I eat, so during the night I wake up hungry or my blood sugar crashes. Other than that, I'd have no problem sleeping.

What else would I cut out? If anything, I think cutting things out would make it worse?

I eat a lot of meat during the day, plus I've started drinking high protein Ensure diluted with milk. I drank that before I went to bed but still woke up a couple of times during the night starving and then early in the morning with the blood sugar crash. Technically, I'm not hypoglycemic, as my meter readings are "normal" but I do get symptoms and have...

Not because I can't sleep or am not tired, but because I wake up really hungry or my blood sugar crashes. I haven't gotten more than 2-4 hours of sleep a night in the past 4-5 nights. Anyone have any idea of how I can make it through the night?? I've missed 2 out of the first 3 days of my new job (I'm sure they're loving me already).
-
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I am just going to have to experiment...problem is I only have 2 more mornings to do so. Plus, I can't not eat in the morning...I get low blood sugar symptoms (even though my blood sugar is technically normal...whole 'nother story my doctors don't have an answer to).

No, definitely not pregnant. Pancake mix is Gluten-Free Pantry. Also, the Puffins cereal is safe according to the ingredients...wholegrain brown rice flour, dehydrated cane juice, rice bran, honey, expellar pressed hugh oleic oil (canola and/or sunflower), sea salt, natural flavors, natural vitamin E...made in peanut-free facility, made on equipment that...

Yes, still eating dairy and soy. I thought it might be the milk I usually have along with my breakfast, but one morning I had a bowl of cereal without milk and still felt the same way. I've been eating either Barbara's Puffins cereal, Nature's Path Honey'd Corn Flakes, or Pancakes made with gluten-free pancake mix. It usually takes a while for me and...

Been gluten-free for about two weeks now, but for about the past week I've been getting sick in the morning after I eat. I've been eating either cereal or pancakes (gluten-free, of course), and pretty soon after I eat I just get so nauseous to the point where I can't move. I sometimes also get really hot. I usually end up having to go to the bathroom like...

Hey everyone, Just wondering if any of you could recommend a bread maker. I've been looking at one on the Bed, Bath & Beyond website - the Cuisinart Convection Bread Maker. Anyone have that one? Also, what staples do I need for a good recipe? Thanks in advance!

I am not officially hypoglycemic either. I start getting symptoms when I hit the high 80's and that is still "normal." According to my endocrinologist hypoglycemia doesn't hit until 60's and 50's. But man, sometimes when I hit low 80's/high 70's I'm ready to throw up and pass out. I'll have to look for those Clif Bars. I've tried Lara bars, but they...

Thank you everyone for the support and recommendations. I'l try to work as best I can with what you've given me and my likes and dislikes. I know I'll get past this hump eventually...just kind of hard to see past it right now.

I've been so horrible about taking my medications, including my vitamin. In reference to the enzymes, I know I need to take those, but I don't know which one to get. I've read a few posts about them on here and another board but am still pretty clueless. Any help on those as well? Unfortunately, I need variety in my meals otherwise I get sick of them...

They aren't intolerances, but actual allergies. I'm allergic to cantaloupe, honeydew, bananas, apples, and peaches. I don't like avocados, beans, most nuts except for peanuts and cashews, eggs, tofu...that's all I have off the top of my head right now. Artgirl - my brother has actually been helping me out a lot. He just went to the store and bought...

Thank you everyone for the replies. I'm just an emotional mess right now that I can't think straight and can't keep track of what I'm eating (I just know I don't like it anymore). And some of the things that some of you mentioned I am either allergic to just don't like at all. Some of the other things that I have and like just aren't enough to keep my...

Nope, no meds. Can only be controlled with food...but the intestinal damage doesn't help because I can't absorb most of what I eat.

Hey everyone, I'm having a really bad day with all of this and need some help. My gluten-related and detox symptoms are better, but the worst part about all this is trying to regulate my blood sugar. I can't get it up high enough and keep it level enough to have any normal amount of energy...even to shower and do things around my apartment. I woke up this...

ARCHIVED If You Had Hypoglycemia Did It Go Away After Being Gluten Free?
Chrisser replied to Sarah8793's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
This is one of my main concerns. I was having hypoglycemic problems way before I went gluten-free. I've only been gluten-free for a week, and even though my gluten-related symptoms are already better, my blood sugar has been all over the map. I'm still just pretty overwhelmed though and don't have much energy, so I haven't had much interest in new recipes... -
ARCHIVED Lifestream Waffles
Chrisser posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone had problems with Lifestream waffles? Specifically the Mesa Sunrise waffles? I had them for breakfast this morning and soon after had similar symptoms that I had after eating Frosted Mini Wheats before I went gluten-free (dry mouth, skin-crawling feeling). I also very REALLY sick to my stomach for about an hour. (Sorry if this post appears... -
ARCHIVED Lifestream Waffles
Chrisser posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone ever eaten these? Specifically the Mesa Sunsrise waffles? They're made with gluten-free ingredients but are made in a "non gluten-free facility." I'm getting the same symptoms I got after eating Frosted Mini Wheats before I found out I was gluten intolerant...dry mouth, skin-crawling feeling. Just wondering if anyone else else has eaten them...
