  1. Okay, that makes more sense. What does it really mean for me to have a low grade reaction like that to ALL of those things? Lord am I glad milk came back okay. I may be eating meat, veg and cheese for the rest of my life...doesn't sound so horrible actually! Does a wheat IGE have any correlation to celiac?
  2. Occasionally absorptive issues can be caused by (and go hand in hand with) hypothyroidism, especially hashimotos. I don't want to wear out my welcome here, but you have all the standard malabsorptive issues that go along with hypothyroidism as well. Couldn't hurt to check.
  3. A few years ago, a doc drew a blood allergy panel on me. It did have a good reference IGE range and I AM allergic to all the environmentals listed. Now for the WTH moment: Corn IGE - 0.67 H Class 1H* Soybean - 0.58 H Same Wheat - 0.68 H Same Peanut - 0.66 H Same Class 1 (0.35-0.70) Low Level Class 2 (0.71-3.50) Moderate Level The doc...
  4. Yeah, I just reduced the gluten today because I was feeling so cruddy. After we're done diagnosing things, I will probably go gluten free, one way or the other. I've been down this road before with an elimination diet, but my compliance as a 17 year old wasn't fantastic.
  5. Oh no, I am gluten-full and have been for years. I just made sure to go overboard on that last day. Today I am VERY gluten lite and feeling much much better. The vampires took NINE tubes of blood this morning. Sheesh!
  6. NINE big tubes of blood. Now off to work? /thud

  7. I'm a hashi's patient too, you really need to read up on: www.stopthethyroidmadness.com Then join the yahoo group "Natural Thyroid Hormones," they'll get your head on straight. It's a bit busy, so keep on posting and someone WILL help you. I hope you improve soon!
  8. This may have already been covered, but have you had a bacterial culture done on your stool? As a microbiology technician, it's always the first thing on my mind. Were you on a ton of antibiotics when you had the flu? Have you been tested for clostridium difficile? Many times it's the gluten, but sometimes it isn't.
  9. Two year olds "testing" emergency services buttons in elevators: amazing.

  10. Hey all you Silly Yaks! I'm off to get blood tested tomorrow and just need to commiserate with some other gluten sensitive people. That gluten loading the day before is TORTURE! So far today, I've had a biscuit, cruddy lipton noodles for lunch and mac and cheese for dinner. My gut isn't pleased, but I really want a clear result. A wee bit of history...
  11. How do I make sure my insurance covers it?
  12. I have a feeling this has been addressed, but for some reason I can't process medical terminology right now. I've been pretty much gluten-free for 2 years. (I know, like being a little bit pregnant.) The only thing I cheat with is soy sauce on sushi, and generally without incident. That however, is why I want testing done. I've had blood testing twice, but...
