  1. I've been eating products that contains Mono and diglycerides ever since I was diagnosed (about 1 1/2 years ago) - and I have had two ets of blood work done and each set came back clean. Does anyone here know how and why mono and diglycerides can contain gluten, and do any of you eat them anyways? Just looking for a new perspective-- thanks!
  2. Hi--I've had celiac disease for about 1 1/2 years now and today I accidently took a bite out of a "gluten filled" scone thinking that is was a gluten free one. Once I realized it, I spat out as much as I could, but I know I still ingested some. I've had one or two mess ups before, but for some reason I got really mad at myself for this one. I'm asymptomatic...
  3. Hi, my name is Becca I'm 17, and I've had celiac for about a year now. I didn't have any symptoms, but I'm type 1 diabetic so they screened me and caught my antibodies for celiac. The problem I'm having is that even though I have celiac, my parents refuse to test my teenage brothers for it. My parents still think that it would be too much for my brothers...

  5. to Confused in Iowa--- The circumstances involving your son's diagnosis sound identical to mine! My doctors also beleive that if I had not had the bloodwork done I would not have found out about my celiac for years. (i've only had it for a year) I also have type 1 diabetes (for about 2 1/2 years now) and my celiac was caught completely by blood work...

I do have the occasional lows or highs, but that is expected. Its great that your son is doing so well with his. my celiac was caught with just blood work, and then an endoscopy. I have no symptoms of...
  7. hi, i'm becca and I've had celiac for about a year now. I'm the only one who has celiac in my family so I only eat gluten free. the rest of my family eats regular food. My mom or I always make gluten free side-dishes when we make dinner for the rest of the family. At first, I thought it would be a pain to always have to eat differently than the rest of...
