    Steve, I got the word back today on my edoscopy and it was mild damage consistent with Celiac Sprue. I guess this makes my diagnosis official. The doc is sending me info on it, and wants to see me in two to three weeks for a question and answer session, etc. I am wondering how were you diagnosed with Crohns? Just by colonoscopy or did you have a barium...

    The only test I can think of that your co-worker may be referring to is a barium enema...I am sure this would not be pleasant...I have not had this done and I havn't seen any of my patients have it done, so I can't tell you for certain about it. I don't know why there would be a general rule about sedation, unless the fluid causes some sort of vasal reaction...

    I. am not sure what you mean by tubes of fluid. Typically an upper GI is an Xray, where they use contrast in order to visualize the intestines, stomach, etc. You drink the contrast and then have the xrays taken. The contrast doesn't taste great, and its no picnic, but far from a horror story I think. Is this what you are talking about? karina

When I was pregnant I got hydronepehrosis and a stone--I guess it passed--it did get better.
