  1. I have this so many times with products. Companies state online that their items are gluten free and then when I ask in an email, they always respond with ‘we can’t guarantee that it is, as we don’t test for gluten’ I had one recently with a bone broth that I enquired about. And dioralyte. I will include their advert and then their reply. It is so frustra...
  2. I would say from experience that I am definitely reacting to gluten. I do also react to soy but slightly differently, shorter time period with tell tale signs. I appreciate all of your advice Knitty Kitty. I am low on Vitamin D and I have asked my gp about Thiamine who advised that we don’t do blood tests for that in the UK. I also feel like my thyroxine m...
  3. And just as an afterthought, I would love to ask a question that may sound strange. But when I have symptoms, I never have more than one at one time. The inflammation seems to move around my body. Such as a migraine and then it moves to my throat or earache. Brain fog seems to be consistent but it’s almost like I picture the bad cells travelling through m...
  4. Thank you for your reassurance. It can sometimes feel very lonely with this disease and a constant battle. The product was Gaviscon Advance Aniseed which I was taking every day due to having gastritis from my gluten exposure. It states on the leaflet that it does not contain gluten. So I thought I was safe. But my symptoms were getting worse each day, causing...
  5. Hi to all I am 4 years Celiac now. I have Ataxia too from gluten and it’s been a major learning curve and adjustment. But my query is about a recent set back. I was Glutened and started an OTC medicine to cope with a symptom. It stated it was free from gluten specifically. But in the following weeks I was getting more ill and couldn’t fathom what was wro...
  6. Hi. It has been a while since I have been Glutened but I have had reactions to soy in the last year. But yesterday I ate 3 crisps that stated it contained just dehydrated sweet potatoes. They are not certified gluten free but I thought they would be safe. Immediately I felt like they were stuck in my throat and I had acid reflux with indigestion. I had breathing...
  7. Thank you for your reply. 56 years! Wow! It seems we all suffer for many years before this diagnosis and I’ll stay hopeful that I can try more foods after healing. I have a very limited diet at present. Onwards and upwards 😊
  8. Hi all. I was diagnosed 3 years ago after suffering for many years of misdiagnosis. There are a couple of things I’d like to ask. The first is about corn. Do you react to it like gluten. My dietician told me that corn should never be a problem for me and suggested probiotics with corn starch and other corn ingredients in. I had stayed away from corn for 2...
  9. Oh and I have MS also and a glutening seems to trigger that too. Numbness in legs. Pins and needles. Struggle to walk etc.Great joy again 😊
  10. Hi. Nearly three weeks ago I was glutened. I haven’t done this in a while now. And the symptoms have been pretty awful as you’re all probably aware of. Migraine, pain in neck and shoulders, flu like symptoms, tinnitus, loss of feeling in legs and hands, fatigue, tummy troubles, rashes, brain fog, muscle twitches and lots more. I was expecting to feel a b...
  11. Hi! I have tried many different brands of paracetamol and ibuprofen and reacted to them all. This is what I have read on Coeliac UK ‘Sometimes medications can cause side effects that are similar to symptoms that occur after eating gluten. Speak to your GP if you have any unexpected side effects’ I do react to corn and all the derivatives tho...
  12. Hi! thanks for your reply and all the information. I will try anything to get some sort of pain relief! 😊
  13. Hi! It’s funny because I have just spoken to my son in the US and he suggested exactly the same thing to me. He said the edibles work great for pain relief. I am off to research what is available in this country. We are a lot stricter here but they have started to prescribe cbd for certain illnesses and acknowledge the medicinal qualities of it. ...
  14. Thank you for answering me. I am exactly the same with reacting to any starch in medication. Which doesn’t leave me anything to take safely. I do use iboprofen gel on my shoulder which helps. I feel like layering it all over my body and head sometimes 😂 My next option is going to be a compounding pharmacist and I am waiting to hear back from them. ...
