  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Hi, I've been on a gluten free diet now going on 10 weeks and lately when I check my blood pressure at home it's been going up.I don't know if it's coincidental or not or maybe I'm absorbing more salt from my food.I'm beginning to wonder .... I'm gaining in health one way and losing the other way. Off the diet you can get cancer, on the diet your cholesterol goes up and incresaes your odds of having a heart attack.
  3. Hi everybody, I've been taking 400 mg of magnesium in the morning and before going to bed to help my TMJ and teeth grinding. It's been about 2 weeks now and I'm starting to feel a lot better. They claim magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant.
  4. I have Celiac disease and also premature gray hair that I got in my early teens. My father had the same thing but not certain he had celiac disease but he had all the symtoms that I got plus he had skin problems.Years ago,in the 70's I don't beleive doctors knew what it was.My mother told me they told him he had a fast stomache. He took predisone for years till he passed away, predisone helped, but has too many side effects. Getting back to the premature gray hair,I wonder if it's related to Celiac disease?
  5. Anybody knows how long it takes before it turns to a normal color? I've been gluten free for 8 weeks and no change in color. Also does being gluten cause dark circles under your eyes and do they go away being gluten free? Thanks
  6. Take your meat, chicken, turkey, pork etc.. out of your roasting pan after it's been cooked. With a spatula or wooded spoon go around the pan and make sure nothing is sticking. Now to make the gravy.. get a quart jar with a lid and ad a cup of instant potatoes,1/4 cup of rice flour and ad enough water to fill 3/4's of the way to the top.Put lid on jar and shake till it is dissolved.Slowing pour into roasting pan while stirring till it thickens. If it's too thick ad more water till you get the consistency you want then ad salt and pepper.
  7. Here's a few place that sells all purpose gluten free flours...Tom Sawyer's Gluten Free Flours .............................................................................The Blue Chip Group sell all purpose glten free flours plus gluten free bread and cookie mixes. I tried them both and like them and they are reasonably priced
  8. I've been wondering if you're lactose intolerant and if you drink milk does this damage your villi like gluten does?I'm suppose to be lactose intollerate but still use dairy products except milk. Thanks
  9. Thanks for replying to this web site ! I was wondering since your a dentist did your teachers( professors) tell you anything about Celiac disease and what it does to the enamel of the tooth? I'm sure if this could be spotted in children then this could help parents get their children evaluated.I had this when I was a kid but Celiac disease wasn't known back then.Maybe you could check this with your patients in the future. Thanks
  10. Hi NoGluGirl, When I first got the symptoms of Celiac disease I was very sick like you especially when I ate dairy.I don't drink milk anymore but still use butter and cheese. The disease didn't really bother me that much lately except being anemic, dry skinned and occasionally diarrhea with clay colored stools. But I know it was doing damage within.I always taken a multi vitamin Centrum which I beleived it has helped me.I'am going to go off this diet in a few months and get retested again to be 100% sure that I have it.Years ago after all the testing I went throught the doctor wasn't a 100% sure I have Celiac disease. You can still have your spaghetti and meatballs. There is spaghetti made out of rice that you can use and you can made your own sauce to besure it's gluten free.I feel sorry for you being so young having to go through this.Someday there will be a cure for this or there will be a gluten free wheat. A another thing is I bought some Tom Sawyer's all purpose gluten free flour on it's web site and I make my own breads, cookies and cakes. You know what's funny? I owned a pizza shop for 5 years. Have a great Sunday! Charlie
  11. Dear NoGluGirl, Thanks for the information.I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 10 years ago but wasn't staying on a gluten free diet until recently( almost 6 weeks).I hoping the longer I stay on it,it will make my grinding go away.I heard low Magnesium affects your muscles. How long have you been on a gluten free diet? Do you ever cheat on your diet? Thanks
  12. I've been grinding my teeth for a while now.I've been wondering if it's Celiac related? I've been on a gluten free diet for the last 5 weeks and I'm still doing it.I was wondering if I 'am lacking a certain mineral or vitamin? Thanks
  13. Thanks guys for the support! This is a incentive to stay on this diet, sure hopes it helps.
  14. I've been having this problem for a while and only been gluten free for the last five weeks.I was dianosed 10 years ago but never been able to stay gluten free.I've read Celiac disease can cause this. Is there any men out there with this similiar problem? I appreciate replies. Thanks
  15. I think it's a shame some of these companies gouge you for gluten free foods.Like 18 oz bag of bread mix for $7.25.If your going to make your own bread you might as well get a all purpose gluten free flour and make your own.I tried Tom Saywers all purpose gluten free flour and I think it is great! I made bread, pancakes and brownies which were all very good.
