  1. Hi out there...I am just having a rought time this evening. My kids are going to have blood test tomorrow and because everyone gives me a hard time about not telling my youngest 7yr old that she will have a shot or blood test I told her this evening that she may have a blood test at the doctor tomorrow... and being sensitve and moody and weepy she is so...
  2. Shirley, Thank you for the information. I had stopped eating iodized salt because when I ate it my mouth would break out in the worst canker sores. I would then swish with salt (iodized) water and it would get worse. After I stopped using the iodized salt the canker sores aren't as severe. I still get them however, probably part of the celiac disease...
  3. My daughter 7 years old has the dark circles under her eyes, she is being tested on Thursday, hopefully they will go away too...My mom who has been gluten-free for 2 months, her dark circles look alot better, but she hadn't noticed....I did though and she looks great after just 2 months! Kelly
  4. Sarah, I agree I am very lucky that my mom is taking my kids...I will miss them terribly. I can always visit, they will be 4 hours away. I appreciate my mom so much for understanding this mess. Of course she has no choice since she is a Celiac too. My mother in law on the other hand has always given me a hard time because I put my children on medication...
  5. Sarah, I am in shock right now....I was just told it was erethyma multiformus, in other words an unexplained rash. What I do now is for almost 12 years I have avoided seafood and fish like the plague because of a possible reaction to any trace of iodine in the fish. I wonder if I can eat fish again? I had gone to an allergy doctor for skin tests...
  6. Heather, I am new to this board and I too have an endoscopy scheduled soon. I am also nervous, but my mother who had both endo and colonoscopy at the same time said it wasn't bad. I am going to do the test first so I know what to expect for my girls (11 & 7) if they have to have one done too. I hope everything goes well with your tests. Here...
  7. Cheryl, I can't be gluten-free yet because of the biopsy, and last weekend I drank 1 beer and had pizza....wow immediately the vertigo and migraine commenced. I couldn't do anything on Sunday but lay in bed and then couldn't go to work. I was miserable with constipation until Tuesday and then diarrhea until Friday. I actually hate it when I put the...
  8. Oh My Gosh! The lightbulb just went on! I had a sinus infection every month for the past 2 years and had surgery 2x to "fix it". I had no idea that could be a symptom of celiac disease. I also wonder if the numerous yeast infections on my skin are also a symptom of celiac disease? I also was diagnosed with social anxiety and was told to avoid crowds...
  9. Heather, That is so familiar that you have no idea. My youngest is a volcano ready to explode at any moment. She is actually on an anti seizure medication which does help with the rages alittle but the hyperactivity is awful. She gets a "pink slip" from school at least 1 x a week. But then again I feel so tired and upset that I usually loose it..so...
  10. Mariann, Thank you for your reply. I have an appointment with a Pediatric GI Specialist on Wednesday for both my kids. I am dreading the blood draws, however I am dreading the biopsy for them even more. My mother says it isnt too bad. I have mine scheduled for 4/26/04, so I guess I will see how it goes. I just wonder if a biopsy is absolutely...
  11. I know this is a topic that occurred in January, but I am new to this and hope I do this correctly. In the past 3 months I have discovered my mother is positive for celiac disease, my sister is positive for celiac disease and I also tested with an IGA AB of 200. I suspect that my daughters (11 & 7 years old) have celiac disease. Based on physical...
