  1. I forgot to mention my suspicion of the high amount of glyphosate allowed to be used on wheat in USA and NZ and Australia. My weight was 69kg mid-2023, I went down to 60kg in March 2024 and now hover around 63kg (just after winter here in NZ) - wheat-free and very low alcohol consumption.
  2. Hi Jess Thanks so much for your response and apologies for the long delay in answering. I think I must have been waiting for something to happen before I replied and unfortunately it fell off the radar... I have had an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy in the meantime (which revealed 'minor' issues only). Yes I do think histamine intolerance is one...
  3. Hello. Do you mind saying what symptoms led the doctors to test for bacteria in your blood?
  4. Hi MJ I wonder if you will read this 3 years on... did your burping ever cease? Did you figure it out?
  5. Hi 'ConfusedCelic'. I was very interested to read your post and the letter from Prof. Federico Biagi you linked to. Blown away actually! I am DQ7.5. I tested sero-negative for Celiac 10 days AFTER giving up gluten (August 2023) when I knew very little about this topic. I now know a whole lot. I am not game to do a gluten challenge. My body is still ...
  6. Trents and ceebee1807, which of your liver enzymes were elevated? Did they stay elevated long-term or did they fluctuate?
  7. Hello there. I think the restoration of hair colour is due to the replenishment of vitamins/minerals rather than just giving up gluten. Perhaps you need to get those levels checked? (from another-but-older green eyed mama 🙂
  8. I started greying in my 40s, gave up gluten in September 2023 aged 59, have taken courses of Vitamin D, B complex and zinc and my completely grey hair has started to regenerate dark brown. Real visible proof of malabsorption.
  9. Hi guys. Sorry I fell off the radar for a while. It has been a bit of a crazy time. I will give you an update. I am not even sure I can remember everything that has happened... (I am keeping a comprehensive diary though.) I am now taking a multivitamin, 1000 IU Vitamin D 4 times per day, Histagest-DAO in the morning with a probiotic pill. (All prescribed...
  10. Hmmm, I would not have thought that breakfast was healthy...
  11. Thanks Knitty Kitty. One issue I have is no diagnosis so it's hard to know how far I go down this path until I get one. I saw my GP on Thursday and we have agreed to proceed with the gluten challenge. I was hoping to get rid of my pain before that happened. The throat tightening has made me nervous about doing a gluten challenge too. I have taken 1 x...
  12. Fats vs carbs - the pain usually starts late morning - I guess that relates to breakfast? I have some kind of rice-based bread for breakfast. lemon and ginger tea. The GP and GE seem to be happy with my gallbladder. (Burping is much reduced, no more heartburn.)
  13. Hi. My joint pain is negligible now which is good. I usually start with under the rib pain late morning. And sometimes I have abdominal cramps in front. Sometimes gurgling noises in my throat and sometimes feeling like it is tight in my oesophagus.
  14. Hi Trent. What I mean is, is that part of the healing after giving up gluten? As opposed to one of the foods I am currently eating giving me further trouble.
  15. Wow! That is a long sad story (with a happier ending). It is great that you are on this forum to inspire people on! Did you get a biopsy in the end or had you had enough of the medical system? Would it be safe for me to assume that if my lower intestine is fine and I have no bloating, then the pain is to be expected rather than due to a particular...
