  1. Truthfully, I am just testing this blog out right at the moment. I am a blog addict. I have another blog (two actually) on two other sites. But I am thinking writing about gluten all the time will begin to bore me as well as others. It's okay sometimes. But I can't write about gluten as much as I write in my other blogs so this blog may only have 3 or...
  2. I apologize but the overuse of "get over it" and than telling me to see a counselor in efforts to use a treadmill was a bit far fetched so I stopped reading there. I am looking for mature, helpful responses, not demeaning and degrading ones. Thanks for your "efforts". BTW, we don't have the options of the great outdoors - we live on a mountain and...
  3. Wow, not only was your post helpful Ivanna44, but inspiring! I have been told that the only exercise I should do at the moment due to the other health issues outside of Celiac, are walking. Conveniently in our building (we rent at the moment) we have a workout room with a treadmill. I am really really really shy however when it comes to exercising...
  4. Wow, that was a great post! Thank you! I eliminated soda from my diet more than three years ago. In fact, all I drink is water. All day long. I can't have caffeine which to me - STINKS! I like the boost I used to get from it but then someone told me it was artificial anyway and that is why I would crash a few hours into the day and need more to keep...
  5. I have hypothyroidism. Get this, SOMETIMES. It underproduces sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. Doctors wont treat it yet because sometimes my levels come back normal and sometimes they don't but they said it is too mild to treat when it doesn't. But then my aunt has been taking meds for her thyroid for ages and still has the weight she can't shed so...
  6. 1) No, but I should take in extra fiber. My diet is more limited than just the gluten free diet - however I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I suffer with many other gastric issues - overgrowth bacteria, GERD, LPR, and whenever I eat anything high in fiber, ultimately that leads to more gas which is more bloating and more pain (really. ...
  7. Thanks you for the magnesium suggestion and the coconut oil. I can not have orange juice because of LPR - my voice box is "on fire" according to my ENT. I would need to take it with something low in acid content. But that is certainly something I am willing to try. Truthfully, and I know this is going to sound awful, I thought of going back on gluten...
  8. Get a scan done! They may have dropped a stone! It could be blocking your intestinal tract - sounds very serious if you can't keep anything down, don't wait! Hope you feel better soon!
  9. Wow, lots of good choices here. BTW, bummer we didn't hit the mark. We will be continuing trying in a couple of months. Some things came up for us temporarily that is keeping us very busy. I still take the prenatals though because my doctor told me to stay on them for the future. Thanks for all this amazing feedback!
  10. No, really your reply is even helpful in telling me I am NOT alone. It is so strange - I was thinking that my metabolism would increase thanks to a better digestive tract but it has slowed down immensely. Thanks for the reply.
  11. Hello, everyone. I am not new here but I hadn't been here for a while thanks to life events keeping us very busy around here. So I forgot my old password and needed to make a new account. I was Spruette a while back. NOW. We're caught up. My metabolism is soooo not normal. Going gluten-free three years ago, I thought would help it but actually...
  12. So the belly is a CELIAC thing? Got it! I have been gluten-free for three an a half years and STILL get the belly. However, I also have LPR and can not consume caffeine, chocolate, or tomatoey things so what is left after all that but some fatty foods which since I do not have a gallbladder, I can not process it correctly. So I just figured it was FAT...
  13. Hello! I am TTC with my DH the old fashioned way - I think in my own belief is that we hit the mark this month - I have one more week till testing. Question is if I did and even if I didn't hit the mark (for the future) what prenatal vitamins are gluten free? I also would love to ask which folic acid supplements are gluten free? The stores...
