  1. I am listening in on this thread. i am very interested in PST issues because my DDs both seem to react to salicylates, amines, and glutamate. To throw in my two bits, as far as i know the only good test to check for sensitivity is an elimination and challenge of the particular foods. if anyone wants a LONG and pretty scientific look at the PST...
  2. Thanks everyone for your responses! i am getting nervous because they should go for their blood testing in about one more week. EEEEK!!!! i really dont know what i will do if everything comes back neg. i am so concerned that DD2 is just too young to test positive. she is just a year and a half. any experience with positive or neg results on a LO that young...
  3. ***HUGS*** i feel your pain. my DDs cant eat any of those foods either. plus they absolutely dont tolerate potatoes or rice either it is almost impossible to find anything to feed them. they can eat veggies, meat, and some fruits. that doesnt leave much for a toddler and preschooler. i dont really have any answers for you other than to try Enjoy Life...
  4. this all concerns me a lot because in two weeks DDs are getting a blood test. dd1 is almost 3yo but dd2 is just over 1 and a half. do you think there is any hope of a positive test on the little one? or is she just too young? especially considering they have both been off G for 4 months before reintroducing 4 weeks ago.
  5. when my DDs went gluten-free their stools got WAY worse. until taking out rice and potatoes. they just cant digest either of those starches without major gastro symptoms. maybe because of the gut damage from G?? either way. if your DS is still experiencing symptoms even after being gluten-free for awhile i would keep playing w the diet and see if that helps...
  6. So, i just got back from the pedi with DD1 and DD2. and i am pretty frustrated by it all. i guess it wasnt all bad tho. he is going to run some tests (tho not all the ones i would have liked). here is what he ordered: for DD1 and 2: -stool for C&S, D&P, leukocytes, fat globules -CBC, AST, ALT, albumin -anti tTG, IgA for DD1 only:...
  7. So, we have been and back to the pedi. and i am irritated at the whole thing (shock shock). i am going to start a new thread cause i dont know how to change the heading of this one. please read my other post
  8. ok...so the appt is today. i am REALLY nervous. i am so worried that he will just say the girls look healthy (because they unfortunately do today!) and that there is nothing wrong!!!! i was so hoping they would go in there looking there worst. they couldnt look better today tho. is anybody out there that can talk me down and give me some advice? like...
  9. i would say yes. but i am definitely no expert. my DD1 has off and on face rashes that when are at their worst are dry and flaky. all her rashes are food related. gluten is definitely one thing that causes rashes in her--she is yet untested for celiac tho. other foods definitely cause rashes too. corn is a bad one and egg whites too. hth, take care
  10. thank you, thank you
  11. Hi all, I got a referral to a pedi for my two DDs. The doc is supposed to have at least *some* experience w celiacs (yay!). we dont want to waste the appt and want him to take us as seriously as possible. any advice or ideas from you all would be great. i was thinking of going in there w a list of symptoms and details about the effects of elimination...
  12. AHHHH half of my multiquotes didnt work. it took me FOREVER to fix up this post so it was readable....well, hopefully readable anyway Quote from Ridgewalker : Celena, Try to let the "are you crazy" posts flow over you. A lot of us are so used to seeing gluten as poison, sometimes it's hard to shake that. Hmm... 1st...
  13. wow...just wanted to pop in and see how ur kids are because you have been so helpful to me . i havent read all the other posts yet. i hope i am not totally behind in this thread. i agree w you about G explaining everything though. it just makes sense! i hope and pray that gluten-free will be the answer for Ezra. maybe he just needs more time on gluten-free...
  14. first, sorry for not posting sooner. we went and stayed a night at gramama's (she lives in a town about an hour from where we live) and then it was Halloween of course (hope everyone's went well and you all managed to stay away from G). now, a big THANKS to everyone for your replies it is so helpful to hear such similar stories from so many of you....
  15. Thanks for the support! i really do think that G is an issue and that celiacs is a good prob at least in one of DDs if not both. but i do wonder now that they are doing so much better off oats it isnt maybe an oat allergy instead of G...i will go w my gut on that. thanks, if i am ever in Isreal i will look you up i hear it is beautiful! ...
