Sorry - a bt late on this. Dr. Richard MOnes is my son's gastroenterologist and he is WONDERFUL!!! He's fantastic with children and very knowledgable about Celiac Disease. My son is a puzzle because he had high blood tests on two occasions, but a negative biopsy. He took more blood and sent it to a lab in Buffalo that is more "sensitive" which came back negative...

I am so discouraged at this point. My son has had many difficulties all of his life (Nick is 6.5 right now). He has always been painfully small for his age weighing in at 29.5 lbs and 40" tall right now. We were seeing an endocrinologist for some time who ran some tests for Celiac and they came back positive. (ttg, iga, igg) Actually the TTG was positive... -

Responding to my own post. I found the information. I was spelling the company as Purdue and it's Perdue so I found their website. Perdue has a gluten free food list that thay mail out (It's NOT on their web page) and they said the ground chicken in patty form and in bulk ARE gluten free When I get the list from Perdue listing all of their gluten-free... -

Does anybody know if PUrdue ground chicken in bulk, in patties and ground turkey is gluten-free or not? The ingredients list natural flavors so I;m not sure. My son has severe dental issues so I need to use ground chicken to make chicken nuggets. I trie dgetting it from a butcher twice and it was just so dry - the Purdue ground chicken is so much moister... -

Yes you can make your own bread crumbs. I have tried toasting cubed bread then "whizzing" them in the Cuisinart and tried just "whizzing" them untoasted and I like untoasted better. I just made a delish combo the other day - I added salt and pepper, dried parsley and a dash of cayenne - yummy. Throw it in a ziplock and take whatever you need out ... -

Can you believe that my regular old supermarket(Shop Rite) carries 4 different gluten-free Cereals!!(EnviroKids) They also have most of the Tinkyada pastsa, Glutano Pretzels, a few varieties of Pamela's Cookies, About 6 or more different Bob's Red Mill gluten-free products(Hot Cereals, baking mix, bread mixes etc), gluten-free crackers, 2 different gluten... -

I use the Kinnikinnkck breads for my son. It's only been a week so I'm no expert - but they toast great, hold together for a sandwich and keep well with PB&J in an airtight container for lunch -

My 6 yo son, Nicholas, last summer was referred to a Gastroenterologist by our Endocrinologist because she ran the celiac blood panel (TTg, IGA and IGG) and 2 of the three came back with very high positives(I cannot remember which one was negative maybe the Iga? I have tried two gluten-free coatings - Cornmeal and Cornflake crumbs - both are "yucky" according to my 6yo. Has anybody found a coating mixture that tastes close to regular bread crumbs? Thanks! Maryanne

Does anybody have a sample letter or tips on how I notify the school about Nicholas' gluten-free Diet? We're finishing up the tests and he will start the diet next week. He is Special Needs with an IEP so he goes to school 11 out of 12 months of the year(No school in August for him) We have an IEP meeting next week and I need to know if his gluten-free diet... -

No he's not autistic - but he does have an IEP because of Apraxia of Speech -
I'm still working over here to try and become as knowledgable as possible so I am ready for our June 1st "startup" date (Still doing last minute tests and cannot go gluten-free till then) I would love for everybody to give me an example of what their kids eat typically in a day. Try Dr. Richard Mones out of Overlook Hospital or The Goryeb Children's Center in Morristown Hospital. He was the only Pediatric GI listed in New Jersey Magazine's list of the top 100 Dr's in NJ! He's wonderful!
