There's a company called "Amy's" which has come out with a line of frozen, packaged gluten-free meals. And they taste terrific! My local grocery store, Harris Teeter, just started to carry them. Hello, I keep reading posts here by people who say that they have had problems with such products as toothpastes or lotions containing gluten. I was wondering if there's a list that exists out there of all the "bad" toiletries that contain gluten? How does one figure out that there's gluten in their toothpaste? Thank you... angel -
Hello...yesterday, while working in the yard for 1/2 hour, I got approximately 42 mosquito bites on my legs. This morning, they're very swollen & painful & I was wondering if they're made worse because of Celiac Disease? Thank you... Angel

Catfish, try an iron supplement a day for the bruising. I used to have the same problem until I started on the supplements, now even when I accidentally knock into something hard, it doesn't bruise. And this coming from someone who at any given time, had about a half dozen bruises on her! Angel

I have eaten at McCormicks & Shmick's now several times & their staff has obviously been trained regarding Celiac's. I've never inquired about their friers or anything like that, as they seem to be very well versed in how to handle a gluten free meal. The staff takes the time to devise a meal that will be yummy for me & they even provide some... -
I called the 800 number for Sargento cheese just now & spoke with an informed woman who said that all their cheeses, shredded or otherwise, are gluten-free with the exception of bleu cheese & Ricotta (which is made with vinegar). I then proceeded to call Kraft & was told that Kraft & Nabisco they have a strict labelling policy when it comes...

Hello again....yes, I get the bruising too. At any given time, I have about a 1/2 dozen mysterious bruises on my body. After some research, I believe that that's due to iron deficiency. Iron helps to circulate oxygen, which may quell the bruising. So I'll let you know if that helps. I attended the NIH conference on celiacs, & the most important thing...

Hi Terry...I live in Arlington, & can whole-heartedly recommend McCormick & Schmicks in McLean. They offer lots of fresh fish & will bend over backwards to accomodate us. Also, if you like Indian food, try Bombay Bistro in Fairfax. They're menu offers lots for us on the gluten-free diet plan. I advise against Chipotle's, who's manager assured... -

I ate out at Boston Market the other evening. I had some chicken, steamed veggies & potatoes & felt no ill effects anytime thereafter. I also bring my own gluten-free salad dressing (Amy's Naturals) to restaurants, so at least I can usually eat a salad, though I have to make sure to inform them not to add crutons....
