  1. I use all the same makeup, now that I found out it is gluten free. I am not interested in having ANY gluten entering my body on any level. I am sick of being sick! My eyes are a perfect way for gluten to enter my body. My lipstick, cover-up - can all get in my mouth. I am going to make sure I am careful. Go for the makeup you like and just call the...
  2. I moved two months ago and my allergies were really acting up. I starting taking Benadryl, like four times a day, to keep down my allergies, but I started getting "glutened." I couldn't figure out where I was getting the exposure, and thought maybe it was the new environment and we were going to have to move! Then, I figured out that Benadryl was questionable...
  3. Stargirl, Please don't worry about scaring me. I have been to hell and back, and coming out on the other side. I have had the same symptoms you have (hallucinating, hearing things) and they were all related to mold. My theory is this: the Celiac broke down my ability to fight the mold and that is how it enters my blood as a toxin and passes into my...
  4. I feel it is only right to share the root of my recent neurological issues. We found hidden mold in the shower I was using. I am very allergic. One problem with having multiple issues is when you can't distinguish between the causes of one symptom from another. There are cross-overs. I still think Celiac is WHY I am so sensitive to mold. It is the...
  5. While I am mad that Almay won't email me the list of gluten free products they so obviously have right at their finger tips, they did clear up my questions (after a long wait to talk to a rep). I exclusively use Almay, so their reply made me happy... The following are gluten free: Concealer Stick Lengthening Mascara Hydracolor Lipstick Nearly...
  6. Thank you so much for your reply! I drive my husband crazy with all my talk of "poo!" I am a seeker and feel very comfortable on this board, as it is obvious that I am in good company. I want so desperately to be in control, and feel I have none. I have two teenage sons who have no concept of CC. I feel like a maniac, going around preaching on crumbs...
  7. Thanks Kassandra! I am going to call them. BTW - 5 "extra" pounds is sexy! Be glad you have it, especially with our diet situation. My Celiac made me so sick and skinny that I got down to 100 lbs! Now that my body uses the food I eat, I have gained about 15 lbs and am thrilled! My husband loves it, and so do I. Perfect is in your own head. People...
  8. Thanks! That is what I will do asap! I don't want to get rid of all my expensive make-up.
  9. Hi everyone, This list was very helpful for me - it is a fairly comprehensive list of gluten-free medications. Open Original Shared Link Holly
  10. Everyone is making me feel so much better! I realize that allergies to mold give me many of my symptoms, but it is clear to me now that it is the Celiac that drives the bus! You may wonder why that helps. Well, we just moved into a new house and I am scared to death it is the problem. Of course we do not want to sell and move again! All of the issues...
  11. Can you post your response? I asked specifically about lipstick. BTW - I am also "free" of nuts, etc... (not milk - but try to avoid) It keeps me skinny for a 38-year old mom with 2 teenagers. I don't stress it - except when I want to go to a function and freak out about mixed nuts out at the tables. I actually skip things if I know nuts will be served...
  12. Hi all... I finally received my emailed question regarding Almay makeup. I am going makeup-free for awhile to see if there is any change in my health. I hope I don't scare anyone!!!! Dear Mrs. Reslink: Thank you for your recent comments from the Almay website and your interest in our products. Unfortunately, because of the way cosmetic ingredients...
  13. Hello Fellow Celiacs, I figured out (on my own - of course) that I had Celiac Disease last October. Prior to that, I had very severe allergies to foods and mold. This led myself (and family) to always pin every issue I had on allergies, looking past the root cause, which was Celiac. Now I know that the Celiac was causing leaky gut and break down of...
  14. I guess there are "mini" scoops - you want to look for the bigger/normal size.
  15. I am glad the product code listing was helpful, which leads me to this follow-up. 1. Big Scoops are definately gluten free, never processed on the glutinated machinery. 2. Any "unique" chip, such as baked and blue corn are never processed in the same plant as the flour. 3. Fritos are "run" first, prior to any flavored chips, so they are also...
  16. I called Frito-Lay today and got the "scoop" on Tostitos (sorry - bad joke). They now also process flour chips with the other products. The way to know if your bag has been processed in the same plant (and potentially on the same lines) is the product code. This code is found directly under the price stamp. ***If the 2nd and 3rd numbers in the series...
