  1. Thanks everyone! I love this forum.
  2. Hi All, I went out last night and had a half glass of mulled wine. I rarely ever drink, but I know wine is generally okay. However, I wasn't sure if mulled wine could possibly have gluten? Does anyone know more about wine/alchol than me that could tell me? Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the tip! I just came across that brand recently and I think I'll give it a try. I will see if I can find it online. Thanks!!
  4. Hi All - I used to use Spectrum Coconut Oil until I recently found out it is produced on the same lines as wheat-containing products. I've been using it for years! Does anyone know of a reasonably priced brand of coconut oil that you would recommend? Thank you!
  5. Something I've done when people ask me what happens if I eat gluten or why I can't eat a certain food, I'll just say, "I just don't feel well after I eat it. If I avoid it, I feel great." I keep it simple and vague, and that usually ends the discussion. I figure, I'm not obligated to tell anyone anything, and I can just keep my response within my comfort...

Has anyone seen a naturopathic doctor in MN they would recommend? I am looking for someone that specializes in nutrition, leaky gut, and digestion issues. I would appreciate any recommendations! Thank you!

  8. HI, This fall I had called Tribe asking if their Hummus was gluten free as it used to have a gluten free label on the packaging and no longer does. The representative assured me their hummus was still gluten free, they had just changed the packaging. I recently saw that Tribe now has pizza flavored hummus. I sent them an e-mail recently to ask if this...
  9. I visited Marshall recently and found a very accomodating restaurant called, "The Hitching Post." I mentioned my gluten sensitivity to the waitor, and he said, "Say no more." He knew exactly what I needed...No buns! He was even so kind as to take a picture of my friend and I at the table. It was a very memorable experience.

Sorry, I meant that I used the blender after she washed it without cleaning it out myself.

    ARCHIVED Cc Question

Hi, I've been gluten free for a while, but trying to get more strict on avoiding cross contamination. I've bought all new pots, pans, and cooking utensils. I try to keep the kitchen fairly clean, but I live with a roommate who is not gluten free. The other day, she washed my blender, most likely with a cloth that has been used for cleaning everything...
  12. Thanks for all the replies! The coffee pots don't have lids, but there isn't usually a mess in the kitchen, so I think I may be okay. Thanks all!
  13. Hi, At my work there are several coffee stations within areas where people use microwaves to heat up or prepare a lunch. I know the coffee used at these stations is gluten free. I'm wondering if it's okay to drink the coffee at work, or if I shouldn't due to potential CC issues. I would love some guidance on this. Thanks!
  14. Thanks everyone for all your helpful ideas! I'm excited to try some new gluten free foods. Thank you!
  15. Hi, Has anyone else had a reaction to cooking sprays? I used PAM Canola Oil Cooking Spray (which contains grain alcohol) for some brownies this past week and I haven't felt quite right. I contacted ConAgra and they said "Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee that our products ingredients are gluten-free, since the source of an ingredient may change...
  16. I'll have to try that one. Thanks for the tip!
  17. Hi, I was wondering if the grenadine used at bars & restaurants was safe. I like to order a sprite with grenadine aka a Shirley Temple with my meals. Does anyone know if the grenadine is okay to have? thanks!
  18. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the insight!
  19. Hi, I will be traveling to Switzerland in just a few weeks! I am very excited, but want to do everything in my power to maintain my gluten free diet. I will be bringing a copy of my gluten allergy restaurant card in English. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this in the following languages: German, French, and English? Also, I am planning...
  20. Hi, I'm hoping to find out if Ibuprofin has gluten in it? I usually end up purchasing a cheap brand such as equate. I've been searching online, and have not been able to find a concrete answer. It always makes me sleepy when I take it, so I'm trying to figure out if there is a gluten issue. Thanks for the help!
  21. Hi All, I'm trying to be extremely careful with my gluten intake. I have a wheat allergy and am very sensitive to gluten. This evening I was at a large group dinner with relatives. They had spaghetti dinner, and I brought my own Glutino meal. The bread basket was passed over my food at some point. I feel like I am having a reaction tonight. I thought...
  22. Thanks so much, I will have to check those out!
  23. Hi Everyone, I am in the process of ensuring all my makeup products are gluten free. I currently use almost all Bare Minerals products, and I love them! I would just like to find some cheaper gluten free mascara & lipgloss products that I could find at a Target or Wal-Mart. Does anyone have some brands/products they could recommend? Any suggestions...
  24. My naturalist recommended that I take high doses of probiotics and kombucha tea to help heal my stomach from issues with constipation, bloating, food sensitivites, etc. After taking several probiotics and 1 cup of kombucha tea a day, my bloating has been severe, and my constipation is much worse. Has anyone else had side effects with either the probiotics...
