ARCHIVED Fructose Malabsorption - Help Needed
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hey, thanks for replying. Well as far as the biopsy thing, I am not gluten free for a lot of time. I didn't know you had to stay gluten-free until the biopsy, aren't the villi supposed to take months to heal? I guess that's valid for IGA tests, not sure if it is for the biopsy. Anyhow I'll trust him for now, he won't read it or do it himself,... -
Hi everyone, By any chance is someone on this board familiar with FM? I have a big dilema here. Let me keep the story short. Me and my mom have the same exact symptoms and almost the same reactions to food for years and years (the difference is she tolerates pain less then I do, but well... she's older and much more tired of it). She always "knew...

Haha same thing here. It's easier for me with either a fan or heater on, don't know why - probably the noise

ARCHIVED Trident Gum In The Eu
shimo posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I researched and seen many places stating that all Trident Gums are gluten free. But I also found a few (very few actually) forum posts where people complaint about Trident. Today I had just 2 of those (Trident Fresh to be precise), and i had a "flare up" almost instantly. Is everyone SURE it's gluten free? I used to buy their "Dental... -
ARCHIVED What Do You Think Triggered Celiac For You?
shimo replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Good question. I guess what triggered mine was Helicobacter Pylori infection. Then with that solved I had a LOT of stress in my life. That just got it worse. -
Hi there, I guess I've been glutened because my symptoms have somewhat restarted lightly (D, few cramps and big time irritability). I haven't had anything new, really. I have been extra careful with everything I eat. The only things I have added to my diet are cookies from Schar, and also a few other things from them such as pasta (I used Glutano only...

ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, it made me feel better as I know a lot other people experienced the same. It's really really frustrating. I just cannot understand how they leave without trying to understand it though, like your husband did. It's crazy! Don't worry though, he probably already digged it up to confirm if you were right... -
ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
No problems at all, you're forgiven Yeah you actually brought up one of the real reasons for that to happen. (When you said some selfish people cannot understand why you can't get better and they eventually lose all their patience with it). Well at least I made a good move, since she would probably never understand this issue anyway. She was super... -
ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks a lot for the encouragement and understanding. You're right she did have issues and this wasn't only about my disease, several other things happened as well but this was like the final drop. Strangely enough I have improved since she left (probably due to less stress), so sometimes I think she was a real problem for me. Even though I must... -
I really never thought about this, but I guess I am going to start asking people before sending chocolates on christmas. Very valid concern indeed.

ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks a lot for the kind words. Me too I feel more sensitive to it everyday which is strange especially with all the bread, cookies and all the rest I was so used to eat. But so far I am going pretty well with it. I won't touch anything gluten-related and pretty much like yourself I do not understand how your sister can still eat it. She will probably... -
ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo replied to shimo's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You apparently didn't notice it but I was limited going out because at that time I didn't even know what was wrong with me. If I knew it was food I would certainly not be at home all day just waiting for symptoms to appear. That was pre-diagnosis. If you don't know what's wrong with you, you dont even associate that with food in the first place. Plus... -
ARCHIVED Husband Still Doubts Dx...getting So Tired Of It!
shimo replied to Sweetfudge's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The same thing happened to me but I only left my girl do that for the first few days. After warning her dozens of times I left her. Even though it was not and it's definately not being easy - I cannot live with someone that does not understand me. (we were not married but we were living together for sometime) By the way my girlfriend also called me hypocondriac... -
ARCHIVED Is It Easy To Get Someone That Actually Understands Us?
shimo posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi everyone, Believe it or not, I broke up with my girlfriend who was living with me 3 days ago due to "our" condition. To get this story short, she would not understand me at all and she accused me of being exaggerated, and that she didn't believe in such thing as contaminations etc. We weren't going that good anyway, especially after I started to... -
Exactly! That's what I am using and we always used to clean it as well, but like you said some stuff will never go out, so I will definately take your advice. Getting a new one today! Thanks for the precious tip.

I actually got constipation when I started the diet, but I guess that's just normal. I guess the only choise is probably to try eggs one more time, without the fries. This can be stressful.
-
Nothing artificial, the chicken beefs which I don't know how you guys call it in english are cut from the chicken's chest. So basically it's chest. And it's not artificial by the way, straight from the butcher. As for the fries/egg, I am not really sure yet but from what I read here so far I really gotta bet on them. I did make them (i know that pre...

ARCHIVED Turkey Day! Question...
shimo replied to Anarchaotical's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I eat turkey about everyday but only turkey... meaning it cannot have anything on it. So yeah it's fine if you make sure it's all natural. -
Hi everyone, I have been a long time visitor of this site but I usually hang out on local community non-online groups. I have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease just a week ago and obviously started a gluten free diet. Since I started to fear the pain and all the other symptoms, I ate nothing but: White Rice , White meat (turkey, chicken), and...
